you can get a Viper Aftermarket alarm system at www.Sonicelectronix.com is the Kool and easy way i found it to be an easy fix...

You can also start it from inside your warm house...

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Try putting it in neutral with the parking brake on.

    None yet! It's new!
If you read your manual, I think it says in there that you cannot lock it, running with no one inside.

I haven't tried these options but try sitting in it when you turn it on, lock the doors with the door open then get out and close the door.

My other thought is maybe there is a weight sensor in the driver's seat like the airbag weight sensor in the passenger seat. If this is the case put a heavy bag or something on the seat and then lock the doors.

X2 on the remote start, if you don't have the key in and someone tries to drive off without it in the truck will shut off.

Just get the viper alarm system so you can auto start the engine from your house. Its the best way.

You have to lock it from the outside with the extra key. I do it every morning in the winter.

Or you can start truck, lock all doors, open drivers door, manually push the lock lever to the lock position, get out, shut door. Car locked, truck still running.

I seem to remember that not working with electric locks. Once you open the door and try to lock it manually, it unlocks all the doors.

You might be right, but then again I think I remember locking my dogs in the truck w/ the A/C on last summer this way. If not I cannot remember how I did it.

I'll give it a shot, I haven't tried it in a while. I resorted to starting my truck with one set of keys then getting out and locking it with a spare set. I tried a bunch of different methods before that, plus that way it gaurantees you have the keys so you can't leave yourself stranded.

You guys are correct, it does unlock the doors when it is running. So using the a spare key is the only way to do it then.
