Correct, having a 14 will lower the mounting tabs on the axle 2". Which will make it lower than the tube, and higher than the diff.

Honestly, I'm not sure it matters, and if you're not worried about sharp rocks using whatever shock you can get a better deal on is probably the way to go.

A 14" short body would be the expensive answer, depends on your budget.

Exactly. New pack, new shackles: loosen the bolts, re-measure, re-set and you're off to the races.

On @hoarder23 we cycled with the 14" shock and left bump travel on the table due to his huge ass bump stops. I even gave him enough wiggle room to go shorter and still not have bottom out issues with the shock.

This was a Fox 14" too with a 1" shorter eyelet. The lower mount was lower than I would have preferred but worked out in the end because we choked the shock up due to other limitations.

Nope, the lower mount bolts onto the axle tube. I welt up a bracket so all you have to do is line it up and torque down 5 bolts (2 per clamp, and 1 for the shock).

This kit will work with a 63 swap (or any pack really) and an appropriate length shock. But when you depart the land of "OEM Geometry springs" I assume you're knowledgeable enough to set it up right.

Of course the wilder the build the better :)

So is this saying the angle of new shock is better than oem spec?

    Definitely thigh highs.

Yes, because it lets you have a longer shock and more travel.

No, because Toyota spent alot of money FEAing the suspension we're messing with, and nothing will be "better" than OEM as designed.

It doesn't matter, because different shock angles (within reason) can be accounted for with valving adjustments. We're well within the range of angle (+/- 10 deg) that are easy to valve for your desired performance.

Math warning: Excessive shock angles cause non-linear wheel travel vs shock travel curves, which means you're trying to set up valves for non-linear systems, which is harder.

Here you go. Bottom 2 clamp bolts are below the axle tube.

I know you probably didn't want the bolts on the bottom, but doing so would have increased clamp pressure during hard hits (shock being compressed). With them on the top hard hits are trying to open the clamp. I think. Great setup for people wanting a bolt on.

@Arcticelf I know this is just a feeler, but if you decide to produce them, do you think they would be available by the end of the year?

    That would be the goal.

There's enough interest I'm going to get a firm price figured out, and ask for hard commitments on Monday.

I'm planning to do a 50% deposit, the rest when I ship pricing model for the first round.

Working on price for the initial group this morning.

7 people on the interested list, let's get it to 10 people committed and get that price below 300 shipped to you before Christmas.
