Hard to say yet, only drove a short distance with 300 lbs of my old wheels and tires in the back. It will definitely be more sluggish as I switched from 46.5 lbs to 57 lbs on the tires and 23 lbs to 30 lbs on the wheels. Loving the look though.

I’ll be interested in your further thoughts as you experience it more. My weights and size change will be nearly the same!

Wanted to follow up with a few observations after driving on the 275s for a few days. Have to admit the truck is a bit more sluggish now moving from 265s to 275s. Granted, I moved to heavier wheels too so it's definitely a combination of both. All in I added 17 lbs to each corner so of course that will impact performance. I think it'll just take me some time to get used to it, as my prior setup was pretty lightweight. Just feels like I'm driving a big truck now, whereas my prior setup felt more nimble.

I'm experiencing some rubbing when reversing while turning which I know is common - just need to do some exploring to see where I need to trim. No rubbing yet in any other circumstance. Front mudflaps were already off, no trimming had been done previously. Truck is lifted 1.5 inch in front, 1 inch in rear. The wheels are 17x8.5, -6 offset.

I do love the look. My 265 Wildpeaks were 31.7 inch diameter and these 275 Wildpeaks are 32.4 inch - they definitely look beefier to me which is what I was going for. I really just wanted a slightly bigger tire without having to cut up the truck too much, so 275 seems like a good compromise to achieve that. If I end up having to do a little plastic trimming that's fine.

Only bummer with this size really is the weight. 57 lbs just seems pretty heavy for a 275 tire, especially since there are P-rated 285s that are 50 lbs and below.

Thanks for this. Was aiming to do the same. Those Wildpeaks have been growing on me. Instead of doing some KO2s

I wish this truck had more power so we don’t feel a difference with 275 or 285 tires.

I think why it is dramatic in the 3G taco is Toyota geared these trucks right to the lower limit of drivability, to keep RPMs low for economy. Any change in overall truck weight, tire diameter, or tire weight puts you into the same realm as guys who are towing trailers and typically just accept that the truck isn’t going to zip around with a trailer on the back.

Sanity check before pulling the trigger:
I'm planning on getting lift, wheels, and tires. 6112/5160 for about 2" all around, and 275/70/17 BFG KO2s. I want to decide on wheels with the right offset so that I do not have to trim a lot or do a CMC. If I got SCS F5s, does anyone know if I will rub? Or what wheels do you use/what offset to prevent major cutting? Thanks.

Pretty much doing the same set up as you. But with 5/6th notch and Ray10s. Which is a -10 offset.

Done some research and it seems that with 275s. There’s no CMC involved. Maybe a bit of trimming but that’s it.

that’s what I’m doing. If you do 275’s you don’t need CMC but I like the look of 285’s.

Did you get your hands on a set of Ray 10’s? They are out of stock and I’m waiting for them to restock.

I'm on Bilstein 5100s, lifted 1.5 inch in front, 1 inch in rear using blocks. My wheels are 17x8.5, -6 offset. With the 275s I'm only rubbing while turning the wheel in reverse in certain situations, doesn't happen all the time while turning in reverse. Looks like the rubbing is in the front of the tire hitting the plastic up front, so I'll need to do a bit of trimming there. But not hitting the cab mount at all so no CMC needed.

Negative. Still waiting on a restock. Gives me a good opportunity to save money and slowly get my parts. Just got my 6112/5160 set. So now it’s time to save.

Yes I am. The size is the perfect look in my opinion for the amount of lift I have, although it’s a bit of a trade-off with how heavy the tires are. I’m getting used to it though.
