As we see it's also sensitive on inclines. Seems fine as it's just a heads up before catastrophic problems arise with low oil pressure. Sure worked properly for you!

Agree with most of the replies here. Don't drive crazy, top it off ASAP, relax, and go on with your life.

Maybe dealership service is a better option for some people, especially with the use of the Fumoto valve.

I line up all the quart oil bottles right next to the vehicle when doing an oil change, so there's no way I can forget to use all of them. That, and use the standard drain plug.

The oil wasn't (IMO) critically low; lower than it should have been because I got distracted, but not low enough to be dangerous. If it was critically low however, not sure how that would burn up my valves? Trash the bottom end, allow the lifters to collapse, and a bunch of other things, but burn the valves??

If the oil was low enough parts would not be lubricated properly. Engines gets pretty hot lots of components moving around . And without the proper lubrication can cause damage . But from what your stating sounds like u still had a sufficient amount of oil .. not recommended amount but enough to get you home . But I wouldn’t repeat lol .

What is the problem with Fumoto valve? Those that have never used one have no idea how good they are.

I say the sensitivity of the warning is perfect . You was barely above the low mark and it was going on and off and once it was on the low mark it probably would have stayed on .

Without a low oil pressure warning, the low oil level, while low enough to throw an alert, is still sufficient.
