This is amazing. A straight tutorial on winter driving prep. You should publish and sell it to the DMV!

Great advice across the board, especially if you’re out on some of these lonely highways. High five @MTgirl !

There were a few folks I saw this weekend who would have benefitted from that advice. Especially the folks in the grey first gen Taco with a trailer, deep in the ditch just south of Big Sky. Looked like that was going to be a heck of an extraction.

We had two rescue hauler drivers get hit on Saturday and killed by a truck driver avoiding a semi. They were extracting a wrecked semi. Was about 10-20 accidents right by me. Rough first storm.

folks still go way too fast in the canyon. it gets iced over quick thanks to the moisture in the air from the warm water of the gallatin.

    this?

saw it earlier on the news.

MHP is up to over 1100 calls since friday. wish there was an easy way to tally local PD and sheriff calls too.

yep. Pretty shitty. One of them was married with 5 kids.

Didn't know the person who hit them was only 18 though though. That sucks too. Have to live with that for a long long time.

I just read that story this morning. So horrible and what a tragedy for these families. Not sure how many times people need to be told to slow down and give space to emergency vehicles :(

Well pretty sure he didn't see them.

But more importantly just slowing down in general in shitty conditions. I'm always amazed at the number of people in horrid visibility conditions don't have their damn lights on. truckers barely slow down as well in shit conditions.

I think the official weather station for Butte is at the airport, at least it used to be. The story is a little confusing too -stating both -27 and -18 for Butte. They'll update the story later on I'm sure.

    Still in planning phase ...
Anyone in Billings area have experience with Big Sky Offroad of ABC Advanced Auto, only two actual off road shops that came up on Google search, looking for someone to install my 3rd Gen. Suspension with Toytec AAL into my 2010 TRD Off Road. Was going to try and do it myself with a friends help, but its getting cold and on the fence about doing myself right now.
