I built a gaming desktop over the summer and haven't looked back since. Its ran anything I've thrown at it flawlessly so far.

I'm hoping I can get my hands on one of the Asus Tuf Gaming 3070s when they go up for order. If the 3090/3080 release is the norm, then I won't for a while.

I bought the RTX 2080 and then it seems like they announced the 3000 series right after. :frusty: Story of my life...

I see them all over FB down here. No way I'm going to pay $400+ used/years old card for a card that's getting outclassed by a newer one that's $500 new.

Thats why I future-proofed a little with the motherboard. Hypothetically, I could run 128gb of Ram.. but unless I'm running a full VR sim rig.. or downtown Anderson.. I shouldn't need that.

That's the thing with building a computer, in 3 months, it'll be outdated. Buy and build something that's within your budget and be happy for 4 years.

This is what I am sitting on right now.

Some pieces could stand to get upgraded, but I am happy with it right now.

I guess pricewatch direct is down or something. That's how long its been since I've been in the PC building game. It was like a ticker and showed price increase/decrease based on whatever website was selling your part. It was pretty nifty for what it did. My go-to was newegg and tigerdirect.

Newegg released a part picker type thing pretty recently, too. I am signed up for their promo newsletters.

They don't have my older SATA 2TB HDDs that are mirrored for my "NAS" or my case that came w/ it's own themed water cooling system. I have the limited edition ibuypower Fallout themed case w/ the nuka cola cap cpu water cooler.

Maybe I've watched too much Louis Rossmann, but I'll never buy a Macbook. Or an Apple product in general.

No idea who that is, but I used to say the same until I used them. Now they’re all I will own. Nothing really compares.

If you ever decide to part with that case, I know a guy who will buy it from you.

I keep falling back on the HAF 912 cases because they have great airflow and are so darn inexpensive, but that is just an absolutely great looking case.

I may be at some point. Doesn't have the best airflow. One in under the bottom front and one exit above the GPU.
