Appreciate it. I'm getting told it'd be 8 weeks until what I am looking for would show up, so similar timeframe to what you have in mind.
I guess I could work on hammering down the other manufacturers pricing for one more month and wait it for something to show up on a Toyota lot, they are just all telling me if I don't reserve one then it's not going to happen for me.

I want to say someone a few pages back ordered one and got about $2k off MSRP. Similar to you it wasn't a "custom order", it was simply something the dealer saw in the queue to be made that was close to what the person wanted and flagged one for the buyer. There isn't any reason why a dealer wouldn't budge off of MSRP for something like otehr then they current supply/deman climate. I do think though even under normal conditions an order likethis gives them leverage.

In Oregon we went ahead and bought a TRD Pro in Lunar Rock for $49,693 (w/ Tube steps and remote locking tailgate) which, to my knowledge was $1000 over MSRP. In Oregon we have a "privilege to sell cars" sales tax of a half percent, that the dealer pushes to the purchaser. The problem is, I'm pretty sure I was charged the full 1 percent. The salesman said they raised it this year, but I can't seem to find any information on it. Anyone know if I can 'fight it' after the sale?

Edit: So after further inspection of the sales form, I didn't noticed the asterisk to the far left of the tax box. Apparently the half percent is accurate, but they added a "Corp activity tax surcharge" of nearly $200.

Anyones dealer telling them that toyota is behind on the production for OR premium package? I place my order September 15th and dealer has no information on build or anything as of yet. He keeps telling me that toyota is "behind on production of the premium models"... Anyone else getting this?

Is that bright Yellow tag on the front a Dealership tag?

Believe I'd swap that thing out for a TW tag. Or at least a Dale Earnhardt one.

Super excited to be a part of this community. Today I placed the order for an Army Green TRD Sport, Access Cab 6ft bed with the 6 speed manual. Got it exactly how I wanted, with just the LED headlights+door sill protectors.

    MSRP $36,494.00(includes destination fee)
    Doc fee $375.00
    Dealer Savings: -$1000 off MSRP
    Taxes $2241.81
    dmv fees $135.00

    Total price before TTL: $35,494.00
    Total OTD price: $38,245.81

OTD can be less for me, depending on what Toyota is offering when the truck actually arrives.

I think I got a good deal for a truck that I wanted but couldn't find. Contacted 5 different dealers for quotes on this build and this was the best offer. Pulled the trigger, and now the wait is on. So excited I am not sure I will be able to sleep!

Congrats. Essentially the same truck I'm looking for but in a different color. Don't see many AC's in my area so its either make an order or go out of state.

Yeah, I've been looking and calling dealers for a couple weeks now and was getting frustrated with lack of supply for the truck I want. Found only 3 with the color/trim/MT/options I wanted, but they had the halogen lights instead. Wanted the LED headlights so went with the custom order instead, and now the wait is on. LED headlights for me were non negotiable, and all 3 of those nationwide had the halogens :(

The wait will definitely be worth it, which color do you want?

Update: $1k off MSRP. I'm sensing movement.
I'd like to be around 8% off MSRP, but if they won't budge enough dealer add-ons might do it.

I'm jealous...I really wanted the cement color. I couldn't find any here with the options I wanted though. Had to settle for the magnetic gray, which is still nice...but I just like the cement color so much more. I feel like I see the mag gray Tacomas eeeeeverywhere. Hardly see cements though.

I have to make myself feel better and say the cement color is so light, it's much harder to keep clean than mag gray. haha.

Lol. finally heard back from my dealer on my order. ordered a AG off road long bed premium package and tech. Said there are only 2 allocated to my region, which is apparently a 500 mile radius. I guess there's a wait list for this build and im number 1 in line. who knows how true that is... regardless.... happy to be first in line. :bananadance:

I hate to correct you on this one, but I was told by my dealer that I'd have to and can order mine the way I want it. It'll just take 3 to 4 months for me to get it. They'll look to see if they can find one optioned like I want, but I'd pretty much have to order it.

I was in the same boat. The dealer had two TRD OR in Mag Gray with the same package i wanted. I almost went with the Mag but my wife and kids liked the Cement more. Both colors are awesome. I put down the deposit on the 4th and it came in on the 20th. The day i went to the dealer to pick it up i was told four other people wanted it if i changed my mind. Cement and AG don't make it to the lots they sell so fast here.

Just got a Cement Gray TRD OR Double Cab/Short Bed, Automatic w/ premium audio, LED headlights, tech package, predator tube steps and bed mat.

    MSRP: $42,014
Sale Price (before TTL): $39,502 (additional $500-1,000 if financing)
    Discount: 6% (7-8% had I financed)

I ended up leasing and here's my numbers if anyone is interested in going that route. I learned a lot from leasehackr and really owe them and the edmunds forum guy a huge one.

    Residual Value on a 24mo Lease: 84%
Money Factor up in Tacoma, WA: .00241
Multiple Security Deposits (up to 9, $400 each): $3600, saved me $54/mo for 24 months and at the end I get the $3600 back. So essentially a 36% ROI.
    Monthly Payment: $343.43

At the end of this lease I'm gonna see if the Tacoma's have been redesigned and probably hop into one of those or a Tundra depending on the family situation. A lease isn't for everyone, but it isn't always a bad decision either. Just do your research and run the numbers to see what works for you.

Just email or call as many dealers as you can in the Northeast. Find one that has what you’re looking for and that will come down on the price that what is acceptable for you(5-8% off MSRP). Then bring that quote to one of your local dealers. One of them will match it.
