All done. Save the key cut.
There was a little nub not broken off. Removed it. All good. Added a pic in case someone else sees itPXL_20201027_004407731.jpg PXL_20201027_012254192.jpg

Yeah... not going to do that.

I'm going to follow suit with the others who were successful at their local hardware stores.

My unlock button felt stiff so I filed it down and then tried the button. Still stiff so I repeated 2 more times. Now I think it is filed down too much because I can barely get the button to engage. I am now thinking the unlock key was stiff because the button doesn't fit in the "hole" super well. When I have the buttons just sitting in their slots (fob unassembled) the unlock key seems tight, while the lock and panic have a little play.

Gonna try and get another set of buttons to see. I may have messed this up but I thought others might want the info if they have a similar experience.

    Manix lightweight for the win!

I miss my Spydercos, but I always tend to sell my knives or trade them for a new knife.

It’s hit or miss. Just got mine cut at Home Depot. Turning the key only works in one of the two orientations.

Definitely going to keep this in mind when I do mine tonight. Seems a little hit or miss on fit and finish.

$70 for turning the key in 2 directions. Decisions... decisions...

Gonna try to grind down the original key and install it?

Same, my unlock is stiffer than the other two. I got it to a tolerable resistance.

Did you file yours down at all? Or just leave it and let it wear in?

It’s the little things. I know I’d get irritated after putting the key in the wrong way.

    They did it wrong, obviously.

As for the unlock button, I think the general aspect is that it is going to be stiffer than the lock. I filed (actually, cut with the knife) down enough where screwing the case together didn’t activate it.

Ive tried the best I can do. There’s one spot that needs filing. I have another fob on the way tomorrow, I’ll see if my locksmith can get it down better.

I don’t know. I tested it before I left, told them about it. They cut a regular key for me to test and it worked perfectly.

Just leave regular key in ignition at all times. Won’t start unless you have the fob with you.....like a push to start hack :locked:

Anybody having issues with just too much pressure on the alarm button? I mean, I'm struggling a bit to get the case closed due to the rubber cushion on the stock transmitter being so far to the side. I could file the nub on back side of the button down but just curious if I should be trying something else before I start sanding it down.

Here's what I saw. I put it together a couple of times. There was a little little extra material on the sides of the buttons. I touched those up on both fobs. Then put them together a couple times. Good to go. I wouldn't sand the nubs on the buttons unless you do it Lightly. When I put the key mechanism in it helped.
