@ETAV8R How was the tent? would it hold up in a high- performance wind event? How were the Orionids?

    Just the basics
Tent was great although I didn't have a wind event I have seen videos of it in such conditions and they hold up well. Lots of people use them at Burningman apparently. This was my second time setting it up and I used lagbolts which was a game changer. Much better than pounding in the stakes.

The Orionids were ok. I didn't stay up late enough. Usually went to sleep about 10-11. Did see a few shooting stars each night.

@omegaman2 temps were reasonable here at that time, comfortable enough!

Just did my first trip out to death valley with the brand new sport. I did a bunch of fun and easy trails, titus canyon, cottonwood canyon, and drove through the joshua tree forest. On the dirt roads I kept my speed to under 30MPH because I didn't want to damage anything. I'm going to research how to do the post off-roading maintenance that is in the warranty and maintenance booklet. The truck felt fine at 30MPH but do you guys think that's pushing it on dirt roads when I'm stock?

couple of days on the park’s west side (10/22 thru 10/24).
perfect weather with days in the lower 70’s & nights with 50 for a low...light breezes which I was thankful for while hiking...
395 was pretty smoky on the way up, but much clearer on the way out.0B2842E9-49A5-4C5C-9979-1224658A436D.jpgFA8D9427-D78A-4F8A-BBF3-83495A200381.jpg5C4BFC82-7961-4F0D-84D1-719E594C8F4A.jpg2D756F9B-02E6-4099-8ECD-2A3A05D815CE.jpg9B569C03-6CAE-4D75-86B5-B4A47365FB9F.jpgED138B37-7445-4B18-BE22-259DA7DBA1EE.jpg40D77362-3BED-41E0-999A-1EF6B2522B1A.jpgDD2740C5-B6AF-4815-9259-BEA82EA77649.jpg2DAF319A-3140-4632-9AFE-18E22DE67C9F.jpgCBD1DD14-7799-462F-9512-FCF80BF66398.jpg

No I didn't do the racetrack yet. I'm going back in 4 weeks with some friends to see more of the park. This trip was so fun, I planned another as soon as I got home! I'm tentatively planning another with my GFs parents for the first camping trip. They're from Vegas and haven't ever been to the park. Hopefully it's not too cold the first week of Dec.

I used to joke it's always too hot in the summer and too cold during the winter nights to visit the park.

With the proper gear, you'll have a great time.

    LOL
I was hoping to maybe sneak back out for one or two days and hike Telescope Peak before my BSN program begins next month. Current temps at Mahogany Flat for tonight is 26 degrees and tomorrow daytime of 40. While I know I could do it...not willing to suffer it. The peak isn't going anywhere...well it is 2020 so who knows what might happen.

You should do it because you’ll have something memorable to look back on as you suffer.

I'd say go take that hike! I personally can not think of any thing more suffering than two more years of school. better bag that peak.

30 should be fine, but it also depends on the road. I would definitely suggest you air down your tires, it makes it a lot more comfortable and safer. Pick up a compressor to air up before you hit the pavement. Titus canyon is awesome, done it at least 6 or 7 times and it never gets old!

For my BSN? Western Governors. For the hike, it would have been Telescope Peak.
