My ebrake doesn't work. Anyone have any resources on fixing it? I saw some videos on manual tacomas but nothing on autos.

Where do I begin? Take off rear drums to start?

Apply the e brake 50 times and see if that adjusts the rear brakes.

i'm confused how it works to be honest. It looks like the ebrake lines that run to the drums are attached to the transmission. But there is no wire that runs from the foot brake to the trans underneath the truck that i can see.

The cables go through the floor above the transmission. They don’t attach to the trans. Applying the e brake is supposed to self adjust the rear brakes. If you never use the e brake, the brakes don’t self adjust.

It runs up and into the truck.
Does the pedal feel like nothing is attached to it?

You need to start by inspecting the drums and adjusting them manually. See if the cable inside the drum is stiff or loose/broken.

It does feel like it does something. When my friend applys the brake with me undernath I can hear the wire moving I tihink. But the brakes dot engage enough to stop the wheel from turning. Im gonna upload a video.

Will start working on removing the drums.

Or possibly the cables broke at the rear of the drums where they enter.

got her off! i am pretty sure it is outwards away from the truck to loosen. OR "upwards".

didn't help i had pumped the brakes up earlier and forgot so i think that was holding it until i started the truck.

On my 4.0 pretty sure there's an adjustment under the front console. Not sure if you have it on the 2.7 as well.
Good luck man. I'm off to bed. 5 am comes quick in NY
