I’ve checked it out. I bought patches for his birthday to get him started, what he does from here is up to him. I bought the truck and he’s paid to have the windows re-tinted. He makes his own money and will spend it on his truck or wardrobe.

 

He turned 15 this past weekend and made $4k during the summer months. The boy isn’t afraid of work.

 

For his last birthday he asked for his own lawnmower

 

Well, finally a somewhat quiet night. Not going to say it out loud, though....

I was going to say that with the summer profits he should get a snow blower and keep up the business through the winter but then I sues that's not as big of a thing in Texas as it is in northern Illinois. Does he know what type of job he wants to do in the military? if the delayed entry program is still a thing its totally worth it. you go to meetings regularly at the recruiting office and start learning the basics. you can go in as an e2 or e3 rather than an e1. its a little work on the front end but can amount to extra $ in the long run.

 

My boys have been earning their own money since about 6 years old. We are fortunate enough that they were able to set up a lemonade stand and make $100 in a few hours to buy video games or whatever they were in the mood for. They have learned to make money for the things they want.

I wish I knew all those things. I would think he might be able to enter higher up because he’s in AP classes and has a great GPA. Problem is he wants to be a marine

 

Have him go talk to the recruiter sooner rather than later. Thats my best advice.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it but it’s my boy and marines are front line. They are bad ass mother fuckers and I’d be proud to say my boy is part of that. I’m still his dad though. He’s always going to be my baby. He carries mine, my dads, and my grandpas name, he’s the 4th.

 

Meh most of them are POGs. He'll be alright, plus if he's got a brain on him se if he can do a ROTC scholarship go Officer, nice cushy life.

 

He’s smart as they come but at the same time he wants to fight, always has

 

4hrs.
Only halfway there somehow.
And it's only Tuesday.
