As a 50+er, I've started getting semi-regular physicals, if only to make my family stop pestering me. Every year, results come back good and this year was no different... except what I was sure was a touch o' the gout (pain at the end of my left big toe for weeks) turns out to be the start of little arthritis. So, on the one hand I'm really, really glad it isn't gout but, man, arthritis? And that's my dang "shiftin' toe"! Just another reminder that I've moved out of middle age and into the beginnings of.... uh, maturity? (sigh)...

I have arthritis on both elbows which is annoying as hell but something I can deal with. Recently I was diagnosed with trigger finger on my right middle knuckle and that is a much bigger problem. I got a cortisone shot that helped a little bit with the pain but does not help with the disctendory of that finger. I have to wait two months for another cortisone shot before I can get Surgury on it and get it fixed.

 

...I may grow old, but I will never grow up...

Its actually nice to know why you have aches and pains. Sad to know they are only going to get worse.

I had rieters syndrome in my 20s, a form of rheumatoid that was in my feet, knee and shoulder. Couldn't walk and hard to get out of bed. I was on NSAIDs for a year and a half, your only supposed to be on them for a year.

But luckily it went away.

I bet that's fantastic. A whole new bacon world was opened up to me.

 

In my neck of the woods I went from raking one day to shoveling the next. Didn't even get a warning! Every year I get more tired of the snow but when I retire I don't know if I'll go south. Maybe I just need an attached garage so I don't have to go outside ever.

 

Ive got nerve damage in my foot.pad of the foot and toes are tingling like when you sleep on your arm and numb feeling and hurt like hell after 12 hours on concrete floor.finally went to foot doc and he gave me meds,surgery would leave half of my foot and toes numb for life.he only does it in extreame cases
