You find yourself a GFC?

 

Im going to put in an order this week. Id rather wait and save. Also have a wedding to plan/pay for (and dual shocks up front ) before getting the gfc. Luckily it takes about a year to build it.

 

Buy someone else's reservation, there are plenty of people getting out of line for various reasons and you can jump a few months ahead if you are so inclined

 

Ill look into it.. but im not in a huge rush. I might even pick up a cheapo ground tent so i can at least go camping like a peasant for a few weeks

 

Hammocks are better, except when its windy

 

How are you going to come camping and get snowed on in May without a tent?

haha basically! its a 20x10 space for my motorcycle/tools.

When I first moved in, I could fit my WRX wagon in there. Front bumper touching the back wall, and have 6" of room at the trunk. And Id have to suck in my gut to get out of the car.
Also note, I paid less than a third of what the 2 car garage townhouses go for. I think my neighbor bought his for $600k. It has 3200 sq/ft, 4 bed, 4 bath, 2 car garage.

Mine is 3 bed, 2 full bath, 2 half bath, 1 car garage, 1800 sq/ft.
Got it in this program, a few years ago: https://www.loudoun.gov/1824/ADU-Purchase-Program . Whats pretty cool is that if I make higher than the qualified salary to get in, they wont kick me out. I could make $2 million/year, and still have this tiny little mortgage (and I charge my roommate the cost of my mortgage, so I basically live for free)

I just cant park in the garage. Driveway all day, or I play car swap for my daily driver Civic in the visitor spots in my neighborhood.

Im planning to pay off the house in 8 years, and then Im moving west. Not sure where yet, but it will have a minimum of 3 car garage.

 

Garages are cheap in Iowa

 

not sure if I want to live in Iowa.. Isnt that still in the salt belt?

I think I like Montana, Wyoming, Utah, or Arizona.

 

The only part of Wyoming I’ve been to is Yellowstone, it was cold. Montana seems cool if you don’t require civilization. Arizona is a no go below 5,000ft. Utah is awesome, as long as you are ok with pajamas.
