Even if we get some, it won't stick around. Ground's not frozen yet and Saturday is forecast to be sunny and in the low 40's.

Yeah, and I still haven't sprayed my truck yet. Chasing down a slowly disappearing coolant issue which I thought I had fixed, but lost about an inch of the overflow tank on a trip up and back to Augusta yesterday. BTW-driving in Southern Maine sucks. Way too many cars and not enough back roads. I like the liberal use of rotaries though.

With enough practice you can navigate them without using your brakes

I was thinking more like this, but that works too I suppose.

But if you're going to do it Pugga's way, commit.

I know how tall you are... 4Runner isn't comfortable lmao. I'm a short bastard and barely fit in the back of my 4Runner.
I'm excited, but also not.. I have to get my Crosstrek so I can trudge through the snow, I still have to get my bed welded and painted and lined... AND I need to get the Toyota up and running! I'm running out of time :(

I didn’t say it would be a good nights sleep. I bet it would be better than the truck bed.

If only they would make them big enough for that kind of driving. Most of the new ones, seem to be tiny with some stupid concrete circle pad in the middle, but it does make it easier just to drive straight thru. Couldn’t do that on the cony circle.

My height limits my options, RTT is in the future. How far is the question.

I slayed my to-do list this past weekend. I took Friday off because Dead River was coming to drop a propane tank (finally), and I other than the 2 hours that they were there I spent all weekend just working on my fall winterization to-do list (plus I repaired the exhaust on the GF's Rav, as a "surprise, it's broken" bonus). Now I'm down to just a couple of small things and I'll be ready for the snow to fly.
And since I've taken all of next week off to hunt (first time in YEARS I've had a full week) I should be able to tuck them in there.

I need to get both if not all three vehicles sprayed before the salt shit hits the roads.

Or Memorial on the other side of the river. You probably could with the big one in Windham, though, with a truck. And a lot of the ones in Southern ME are just a little concrete disc in the middle. I've driven over the one on Fletcher street in Kennebunk many times when there's no other traffic.

I'm jealous! I might have to take a day off here pretty soon. Saturday we took the pupperonis to get groomed. Sunday we got up late, so I didn't get out there til like 1 in the afternoon after breakfast and running shit to the dump. I'm really missing having a truck bed!

I am offering my Crosstrek up to the salt and rust gods!  Please munch away as much as you want, salty gods. Please accept this offering in exchange for sparing the lives of my other vehicles.
    Amen!

Well yeah, that does make a difference. I was up at 05:00 all 3 days and was outside hammering on my list as soon as it was light enough (which right now is around 06:45.

Yeah I know... I need to really get down to work. I also have to get some firewood inside the house/stacked in the garage.

Now is the fun part where I have to very carefully weld thicker steel to thinner steel that also has rust... ugh

Two words: Heat Sink. If you've got some scrap copper or aluminum plate, clamp it onto the back side of your weld against the thinner metal. It'll help keep you from burning through.

Of course, the rust probably adds some complications to it.

    Thin steel? Or compressed rust?

That is a great idea. I've never been a great welder.. Never claimed to be. I've learned a lot on this most recent project. I think I figured out how to weld without blowing through. I run the majority of the puddle on the thick sheet then move it up to the thin sheet briefly, back to the thick sheet. The welds I've gotten out of that have looked pretty good!
