What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I tried the brights too; they seem good but I was comparing them to the hellas and well, they seemed dim at that point. hahahaha

I didn't re-pin yet - one step at a time; I wanted to make sure everything worked with the existing wiring before I went and mucked with another variable. However, I went back to find where we were talking about that b/c I think I'm going to try the r-pin tomorrow/Thu.

Also need to replace the spherical bearings again; probably do that first, since it's a functionality thing.

 

Simple little mod. Turned my turn signal only bumper lights into parking/turn signal. Not as a cool as what most of you guys have been up to, but I like it. Ended up using LED bulbs so a resistor was added to avoid hyper flash. Very similar to the switchback mod I’ve seen posted a while back.

 

Last ditch effort to get my swing out slop/sagging fixed. Pretty sure at this point if it’s sagging it’s the bumper itself needing reinforcements.

 

Is that 1in plate?

3/4” bar. Beveled the edges on the bar and the c channel and heated the bar with the torch before welding it in.

 

seems beef.


But I can pretty much guarantee its the bumper flexing be my bet.

 

He's showed behind it before, it has no support

 

I ran a set of MTs this size on a CRV. Lol. Thing looked sick

 

since the last time I showed it I did welding in more support though.

there is also 1/4” the is perpendicular to the other 1/4” that I welded in first

 

That's really not enough, you have a massive lever on a lever on two pieces of c-channel.

 

Isn't this a somewhat regular topic to argue?

 

Would boxing the rest of it help? I’m running out of ideas.

But seriously, dual swingout is the way to go if you're going the have a swingout IMO.

Was thinking I might cut the bottom of the the bumper sides off. Cut my bed at the blue line and welding a straight support across.
