Thanks! All in all it was about how I expected. He never mentioned that the struts for the back glass are shot or that one of the blocks that slides in the bed rail to secure it is cross threaded but at least they’re small things.

Thanks! The two-tone looks better than I expected plus I don’t feel like paying for paint so it’s staying this way.

They’re so rusted together it would take an act of god to get that receiver out of the hitch.

That looks great, and those 17" 4Runner wheels look killer on a 2nd gen.

Update us with what you're being quoted to paint it if you decide to color match, I'm always curious about that

Thanks! They came off my sisters ‘14 4runner. And I don’t think I’m going to bother painting it to be honest, I’m balling on a budget.

Another question for everybody...do you think the squat is worth adding an AAL to correct or would you let it ride?

As for the added weight on the truck, are your leaf springs original or the recall pack? On my truck I have the Roadmaster Active Suspension and it helps a lot with added weight of the cap. You may want to consider bed stiffeners. There's quite a few brands out there, but I went with Cali Raised. Good price and a great product.

After seeing the pictures you posted it looks great, honestly I don't know if you need an AAL. Maybe something to consider down the road (if needed)

Great point! I went with the AtTheHelm Bedstiffeners , he is a TW member, but most importantly has a bottle opener(s)!

So my leaf springs are the tsb packs as far as I know. I took it in earlier this year for that exact recall and they said my leafs were either already replaced or one of the rare models that came with the 4 leaf pack from the factory. And I am currently looking into some bed stiffeners. I’d like them to be as low profile as possible so I’m leaning towards all pro offroads version.

Thanks! I think I’ll let it ride for now. I know my 5100s will allow for an AAL kit but I really don’t want to have to mess with the front if the rear ends up sitting too high after install.

One of my buddies had the 3+1 pack on his truck while I had the 2+1 and I was like WTH is up with that. I'll have to check out the All Pro Offroads version.

They look pretty sweet. They go farther up like the total chaos version but a bit cheaper and also lower profile. I’m between these and a set made by a guy here in the buy/sell section.
