Just wanted to throw this out there, that I've been running the PX5 for just over a year now, and not a single issue. Same with the Carlinkit Carplay USB dongle. When I first removed Entune and installed this, I figured it would die quickly and I'd end up with a Pioneer, but no. It's been rock solid. I've not upgraded anything except the firmware and software on the Carplay dongle. As always, YMMV. (Runs to the garage to find something wooden to knock on).

I dunno which version of Hal9k you guys got, but it's not so great on my headunit. I've frozen it up multiple times and there are phantom touches happening constantly.

Any reason I’d want to run Malysk instead of the built in OS with an app launcher(Agama or something).

It gives you more functionality and the unit itself is more responsive. It also has about 8 different launchers. The biggest thing for me is the CarPlay it’s 100% better than on the stock rom!

I suppose using the factory setup for a while isn’t a bad idea

    Hi all,

I just purchased the PX6. Everything works with my 2019 Taco TRD Offroad Sport. It had the JBL system. TPS, fuel data, etc all worked with nothing to buy extra.
I am having trouble connecting CarPlay wired or wirelessly though. Any insights would be great. I am emailing back and forth with Dasaita through Amazon. I haven't gotten the solution to work yet.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082XHCBJ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Their solution:
How to enable Apple Wireless CarPlay for iPhone via zlink application.
    1. Connect iPhone to the radio's hotspot via WiFi.
    2. Connect radio and iPhone via bluetooth.
    3. Enable CarPlay for the radio on the iPhone. Settings> swipe down for search search for CarPlay. (needs to have bluetooth enabled first)
    4. Then CarPlay will connect.
NOTE:You CAN NOT use WiFi while CarPlay is in use.
Please use the following instructions to use the radio's WiFi to connect to the iPhone's Personal HotSpot
    1. Disable the radio's HotSpot, got to Settings> Network/WiFi/HotSpot> HotSpot disable
    2. Turnoff CarPlay (it will turn on radio's hotspot to connect CarPlay)3. Turn on Radio's WiFi Settings> Network/WiFi/HotSpot> WiFi - On> select iPhone or HotSpot
Bt the way: If you want to use the Easy connection App for phone screen mirroring and iPod, you need to turn off the Carplay option. Please click Setting > Car > factory Setting (Passcode: 126) > other, find the Carplay and Three-way Calling then choose \"No\"
For Android auto, you only use the wired connection.
    Regards,
    Iris

There is a update I would make sure that your up to date first. The update does make the CarPlay work 100% better.

When using the male sma adapter into the female OEM GPS connection, is it suppose to snap in? Mine just slides on without hearing a click or snapping together. My gps does not work when testing in the menu, nor does the Speedometer on the screen change while driving.

They had me update the MCU to 3.65. Wireless Carplay will work now, but I have to connect to the HU hotspot. That defeats the purpose because my cell data will not work this way. Is that how everyone has to connect for wireless to work. FYI, the wired connection will not work at all.

Do you have Wifi-Assist on? I don’t have the unit yet but I connect to wireless networks that don’t go out to the web all the time and I am still able to cruise the internet.

No you should have to connect your hotspot. Try turning the hotspot off the only thing that should be on is WiFi and Bluetooth, and normally what will happen is that the Bluetooth will connect and then it will connect to the WiFi. You can manually connect it to the Bluetooth but to work properly the head unit has to connect the WiFi on its own
