Manual, access cab w/ 6ft bed & sport suspension since 90% of my driving is on-road. I'm not proud of that last one...

My first taco was a sport because it was literally the only TRD trim truck on the lot at the time. It was fine, but I much prefer my new OR.

FWIW I hated the scoop and the fact I couldn't raise the drivers seat.

I choose my Sport because I like the ride quality. I spend 95% on the road anyways. Got 4x4 if I go to some snow area and that's a big IF. I have no plans to modify suspension system.

Besides... Hood scope has more function while I'm mall crawling.
What do I need Crawl Control for? Helps me crawl into my parking spot I'm guessing. :anonymous:

    Kidding!

It's still a Tacoma and the OR is badass. Don't get me wrong if I could off road regularly I would have went for the locker. However my very little time spent off road the sport was a better decision. And the scoop. I'm sorry I love it. Lmao. Workimg on putting a knight rider light in it.

I prefer the suspension, the color matched flares, and I like hood scoops. Even if they're fake. I don't go on anything rougher than a dirt road, so don't need the crawl control stuff, plus I wanted a 6MT, so that's kinda moot anyway. Don't care for soft mushy suspension on the road, either.

Not a stupid question! @Mrtacoman88 got to you quicker with an answer - and I meant the sport rear versus the SR5. It was more of a stupid reply on my part

Only ACLB available in M/T and because skewp! You don’t get the fancy buttons with a M/T anyways and can always add a locker later. I’m changing the suspension too, like most people, so no real loss there. Plus I get to camp in the bed of my truck since it’s not chopped short.

And believe it or not, you can still wheel a Sport with stock suspension :anonymous:

Biggest consideration was wanting a double cab with a full length box. Only available in the sport and SR5 in Canada it seems, so I honestly didn’t even consider any other trim.

    I like the scoop too...

You ever notice you have more pics of the truck vs. family.

Did I mention a Blazing Blue Pearl TRD Sport comes standard with a color matching bottle opener. This item does not come standard on a “TRD OFF-ROAD.”
Bottle opener in Blazing Blue only available on the TRD SPORT.

    Work in progress...
It was the 17 TRD Sport or the 15 TRD OR the sport had 15k miles on it and the 15 OR had 22k miles on it...I didn't know what I was doing and they were the same price and the Sport was blue. I would like to have another swing at that...

I'm shallow af, loved the look of the 3rd gen redesign especially in blazing blue.

Other reasons were being able to stick with a M/T and get the 4 door DC (Canada trd sport only)

Can’t buy a long box double cab in a TRD OFF ROAD in Canada. It’s only available in Sport.
