When you figure it out let me know. I've added a half gallon since July.

I thought it was the lower hose---I replaced both hoses with good Gates hoses during the summer for preventive maintenance reasons. A couple days ago, it was wet where it connected to the radiator so I tightened that clamp a little bit and then cleaned it up. Thought it was good, but nope-still losing and still wet on the lower hose-just not where it connects to the radiator.

I just pulled the skid plates and it looks like it is either a hole in the hose(doubtful), or the top clamp(likely considering there are stains running from the top of the hose). I'm draining the radiator and about to pull the hose, seal with some Permatex Form a Gasket and try again. We'll see. Hopefully I don't butcher this hose tonight, because it is a long bike ride to the nearest auto parts place.

    https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/...viation-number-3-sealant-liquid/80017/4610377

I'm going to leave the skid plates off and try to Woolwax spray my truck tomorrow weather permitting.

I’ve slept in the driver seat and also across the back seats. The back seats are better I will say that much.

I want to have an all round vehicle. Bed and camping inside without having to worry about setting up tents. Pull up, site done. Bed for firewood and other crap. Never have to worry about rain or snow, my tent is weather tight for sure  I’m just attached to a truck/having the box and not having a roof cargo setup.

so we’ll see how this weekend camping plus this winter potentially pulling off more road trips etc goes. If it looks like I’ll be doing more camping and road tripping then I’ll be looking at vehicles probably sooner than I’d like to :(

If by "camping" you mean sitting in a place with no cell coverage, a warm fire, a shower, and a bed-yes, that is me in my house.

Nothing wrong with that. My younger years I wasn't so smart regarding the liquor consumption

How old and where did the Rav exhaust break?

    Mornin' y'all.
Getting our carpet in the basement installed today. Pretty excited as that's the last step to a finished basement, well phase 2 would be a bathroom, but the main area will be done.

We have HD doing it, free installs and lifetime warranty from any stains or pet issues on the carpet sold us. Onlllly thing thats rubbing me the wrong way is the instal time. Sometime between 2-6 they will show, if its 2-4, great. But at 6 oclock we are winding down for the night, and at 8 we are in bed. I don't know how long carpet takes but hopefully it isn't that long. We have about 6-700sqft and a relatively easy and open space to finish.

Anyone got any idea on how long carpet takes to put down? I my mind it isn't that hard, but I've never done it and I often underestimate things.

If they know what they're doing, they'll blow the carpet install out in a couple hours. They did about the same SF area in my house in about half a day but it included stairs a hallway and a odd shaped room.

You're brave with the carpet in the basement. Hopefully you have a good underdrain system and sump pump!

    No drain, no pump.

New house, been here 1.5 years and never any sign of even the slightest bit of moisture.

That said, my bigger worry is 5 dogs peeing on the rug....

I got the closed cell foam underlayment so it will not uptake any water in an emergency situation. The rug is synthetic too and its supposed to resist basically everything forever...

BUT, with all of that..yes carpet is a risk and one we acknowledge. But I want it to be a soft space for the kid to run around in or watch movies etc... If it goes south we can rip it up and put down a laminate in the future, but hoping it works with the carpet.

    Morning, all. Happy Hump Day!

It's a 2005, and just upstream of the muffler, behind the rear diff. Second time I've done an exhaust repair on this car without having to make a trip to the parts store, because I had some spare parts laying around from a previous fix on a different vehicle.

That's the correct way to do it. It keeps most of the heat on the thicker steel. But the heat sink on the thinner steel would still help with burn-through.

Actually, now that this thread is off the topic of Toyotas, I LOVE the fold up rear seats in the Ford trucks! There is SO much room! And they kept the floor flat. Just unroll that sleeping bag and sprawl out!

I’ve seen different reports I think it depends when the temps drop and how much stays rain. But 18 overnight equals snow to me.

I’ll be camping in nh Friday night, that’s gonna be cold as balls. I’ll be in the cab and have remote start so if it gets too cold I can cycle the heat for a few minutes :D looks like we’re getting a dusting at most down this way and then a couple inches in central NH/VT.

almost all the full size trucks are awesome for cab sleeping one person and a dog depending on dog size. Even the ridge line is pretty good but maybe a bit narrow. Once you get into mid size it’s a bit dicey. The new F150s have those completely reclining seats that will go back to flat. Unfortunately it’s new and will probably be an option way higher up in the trim bands so like 50k if I wanted it. I’m toying around with a few ideas in my head but it’a starting to look like a frontier will probably be the best option.

That's for sure. The back seat on my truck is almost as comfortable to lay down on as my couch. I spent the night on it this summer when we were moving the furniture out of my grandparent's house. I got there the night before my parents and didn't have a key, so rather than rent a hotel room I just slept on the back seat. Other than not being able to stretch my legs out completely straight I slept great.
