Not gonna lie, I want one too after finding it existed online the other day.

I just can't decide what to do... Keep speedy and buy nice dirt bike like a 701... Trade speedy for a newer street bike with cruise control and a bit more power (looking at you FZ10) and get a cheap dirt bike...

Or just keep speedy and get a cheap dirt bike and save $$$ all around

I cousin just picked up another bike as I'm still trying to get my first, lol(I've been looking at dual sports and almost ready to pull the trigger). This one he got was a used BMW1200GS...'just skip getting a dual sport and get an adventure bike', he says. :facepalm:I didn't get a Drifter on the Taco to trot around a heavy ass bike to camp from. Needless to say I'm still looking at getting a 250L Rally, DRZ or KLX. Almost had a Rally but it sold in 3 days and my totaled car payoff check hadn't come back yet:annoyed:

What kind of riding are you going to do? Any long periods of highway?

My plan is to just ride around from camp with my son(he's just learning the whole clutch thing now) and maybe around town or to/from work(20mi home2work). I don't have plans for the highway but my cousin and aunt want to ride to the PNW on their BMWs. I told them I'll just follow in my truck and enjoy riding when I get there

I like those Scramblers and would consider one of those Desert Sled versions if I could find one nearby. I've only seen one since I started looking at bikes.

I kinda started looking at the BMW 310GS but some reviews I saw said it wasn't comfortable to stand up on. And if I'm on dirt I like to stand to get a better view at times.

Oh i meant the Scrambler Icon, Classic, Full Throttle, or Dark. They aren't that comfortable, but also not dual sport

That's actually the first bike that my cousin has. And I am considering it. My first thought was to get something a little more street oriented so I would grow into riding around town more. I would just get 2 bikes but I'm trying to stay under $6k and this will be my first bike(technically).

Oh. lol. I could see going that way if I got the 2 bikes but I think it will be over my budget as I am still considering getting a daily driver car. My taco at 14mpg ain't so good to drive all over the place daily.

Yea.. im at 12-13. I know the gfc im ordering today wont help, but might be better than my old setup because its lighter.

    I have a 2000 Civic. Still gets 31mpg.

If you don't mind carbs, I was having a blast on the DR650 I test rode around town. Good torque and fun as hell to whip around the city streets of Flagstaff. Lighter than a KLR and bit more power. Can get them preeeety cheap used. The WR250R would probably be my pick if buying new. Can't beat FI and 26k mile valve adjust intervals. Wish the dealer had one I could ride.

$6k can get you a lot of nice stuff. I think that's more than reasonable.

I like the fat front tire on these. I know it's more sprung weight but that's easier to compensate for than to give up that added stability in turns on the road. I wish that bike weighed more. I would certainly consider it. That's what Mason @AR15xAR10 got for his GF Alleycat.

Ok stop the presses. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DAVID, AND MANY MANY MORE! I feel like I caught that but if not I apologize. Mine was the 6th.

Ok, I remember you trying to sell the other bike you had, the one with the single side swingarm. I did not know you bought one of these. Very nice! Congrats.

Wow, you really made 2020 a great year! Glad to hear it. Do you have any pics of you on the bike riding it? You're a little taller than me, I'd like to see how it looks with you on it to give me an idea. Maybe I should just concentrate on losing some weight so I have more options for smaller bikes. :anonymous:

I don't have any pictures of me on it. I think it is a little small for me though. Size wise, not engine size
