You have a kettle that draws less than 400W? That's unusual.

Is anyone who picked up a new Meso Flip-Fob willing to share a review before I destroy my only OEM Key and cut the new one

I know it's early for impressions, but any input is welcome input. I would however like like to hear more than "Love It" or "Hate It" if you are willing to share your experience.

I’ll share my thoughts on the flip fob.

I’ve actually driven a lot the last couple of days, short trips but more than usual for some reason.

Assembly was smooth but I have not extracted a transponder from a key yet.

The buttons aren’t perfect but they work well enough for me to be satisfied. I understand why filing is needed and first assembly caused lock/unlock when pressed together so it’s obvious.

The flip works like any other flip I’ve had.

It’s grippy, many OEM flips are smooth and perhaps even a bit slippery.

It’s larger in volume than I expected but not massive. Feels substantial in your pocket but not ridiculous. I think style-wise it may appeal more to dudes than ladies but maybe I’m projecting there.

I’m not 100% sure I will buy a second one but still leaning that way. I’ll get a different color if so and I’m split on green vs red for now.

I find it easier to know without looking which button is lock vs unlock since they are in a straight line and there is a reference point with the TRD/blank tab on top of the front Allen bolt which has good tactile feel. With the OEM key I found myself looking to make sure I was pressing the right one.

Maybe 4-4.5 / 5 stars overall for me?

    Possible negatives:
    1. Shaving or filing the sides of the buttons isn’t something I really want to do. I’m fine with filing the pins though. And the buttons aren’t all that smooth though they definitely work. I think unlock is maybe the least satisfying click. So maybe I should shave that pin more but I don’t want to shave too much. This seems fixable with multiple sets of buttons if they aren’t overly expensive to produce.
    2. I got black and it’s pretty black. Grey/red buttons would be nice to break it up. Other colors have more contrast which I think looks cool. Maybe my fault for lack of creativity on color choice.
    3. Price is maybe a bit more than expected but could be $100 and I’d still have bought at least one. I’m sure MESO math is fair based on other products so this is a comment expressing a little surprise at what it costs to manufacture something like this. At $50 or so it would feel like more of a must have, whereas for $70 I think it might be reasonable to expect it could optionally come with a transponder too, or add one for $5 then MESO could source those in bulk.
    4. I wonder if panic might be better as a half size button like it is on the key to suppress accidental clicks.

I got mine on Amazon too. The thing is though that they are marked for the 2020 because the 2020 comes with insert holes for them pre-cut (not sure the 2019 does) and those holes are pre-wired for the lights (which earlier models definitely are not). I’m sure you can find guides on here as to how to wire them for older models, perhaps even a part number for the 2020 harness.

Not right now but I may make one eventually. I was in a hurry to get it done so it didn’t even cross my mind to take pictures of everything I was doing.

Meso is sold out of almost everything. Only thing I could order was the Steering Wheel emblem in Inferno and the GasHole... All the other interior stuff is sold out.

Texas has no state income tax right? Gotta balance the books somehow.

You’re correct. The pre-cut insert holes and pre-wired connection comes in clutch. Made the install very easy.

At first it was the head unit was not updating the Trip Time, then I when off road, the doors wouldn’t lock, the dash was telling me to turn the truck off when off or running and I had constant power to my USB and cigarette outlet after turning the truck off, it threw 7 codes including one that would cover the original problem.

Panasonic will not replace the head unit for the original problem, said the truck needs an update, dealer says there is no updated available.
