Hello from NH! The only important part of my house purchase.. the barn. And it fits the truck with the tent on!

Based on the location (not the ridge beam) I'd be willing to bet that it's more ornamental than functional, though. Unless it's braced pretty heavily on the back side, at least.

and big old fat snowflakes here. Still well above freezing outside so it won't do anything.

    and back to rain

It'll handle a few hundred pounds based on what the inspector said. He suggested reinforcing it with metal h-braces if I wanted to hoist more. I will likely swap it out with an I-beam someday.

Well, that's better than I'd have expected from where they placed it. Is it braced at a 90 on the back side or something?

Didn't look like it - it's tied into all the support braces in the loft. I'll grab a photo of it sometime this weekend. The previous owner said he had it designed into the barn so he could hoist stuff up to the loft but he never used it. The barn is structurally overbuilt and nicely done according to my home inspector who was a former general contractor. He also had lines run out for water and plumbing for a grey well. I'm trying to get a propane bottle out there to run a propane heater to maintain temps because I don't want it to get below freezing in there. First floor is fully insulated and the loft can be closed off to keep heat down. Only wash is the doors which are super drafty.

But if you get an SUV then you don't have a bed for firewood or whatever. So it's kind of 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other. Why not get a cap for the bed? Or if you want to keep is a regular be get a teardrop trailer or something. Or a 4 wheel camper slide in/ AT habitat or similar.

I'm really hoping the snow doesn't start to stick. It would make for an... interesting ride home with my summer performance tires on the STi... :burnrubber:

It changed back to rain on the south side of Squam Lake.

I think I'm going to wait until it warms up this weekend to spray my truck.

I've had a decent setup for the last couple years in our garage. We decided to make it better and just finished having some work done to it. Insulated and drywalled the walls, ran additional electrical out there, installed an electric shop heater. We already had 10 horse stall mats but need another 3 or 4 to cover the area we want but the things are impossible to find now because of everyone making home gyms.

I got a combo of new mats from tractor supply, and used ones from a box that was getting new ones.

Curious, what electric heater do you have. I'm going to put on in soon for my garage. Really for the wife. If I leave the utility room door open it'll keep the garage like ~45-50 degrees in the winter. But the wife wants it warmer to work out. I'm going to add a new 220V circuit and run it to my garage (easy as the house is a raised ranch and the utility room is on the back side of the garage).

Last year was sketchy AF. I had to drive home during a freezing rain/snow storm to finally put the fun car away. I was driving super duper slow, put my turn signal on, slowed down quite a bit, then turned the wheel right to turn onto my street... and voila

Still snowing in Conway, but I don't think anything is sticking. Nothing is showing up on the cars.

I still need to undercoat my F-250 and finish the bed :angrygirl:

I got that one. Not going to lie, originally I said the same thing. It was really for my wife. But the last few mornings, even though it hasn't been that cold, it's been nice in there being warm and not having cold barbells or DBs.
