    Okay:so your truck isn’t a 2001? I was trying to figure out what sensors a 2001 had.

Sounds like he was installing on a customer's rig. He works for a shop.

Speaking of shops. Do you guys know any good shops in the area that can do regears? I’ve been thinking about getting mine done now that I got bigger tires.

Bummed I missed the snow! Looks like you guys had a good time.

I will never forget that lil white subaru with the chick driving it we saw our first time out. Still amazed she made it. Gave me a whole new respect for subarus.

You drilled holes into a metal bumper, mounted the sensors, and they just worked? I need me a high clearance bumper but I don't wanna lose my sensors either.

Dude, her rear tire was so high off the ground. I will probably always remember that.

I thought she was gonna flop that car onto it's side. I almost ran over and pulled down on the corner of the rear bumper just out of pure reaction to the situation.

Dang, I've been busy and haven't checked in on this thread.
Still haven't made it out with you guys, which is pretty lame.

Sorry to have missed the last run, I was playing around and freezing my ass off in OR and NV.

Planned to run solo through black rock wilderness between Gerlach and Fields, but had to abort.
Loooong drive to get back out and around, but deep sand, time crunch, not quite enough gas, solo, first time through, etc... I'm dumb, but not that dumb. Gotta know when to pull the plug.

Hope to catch you guys at some point. Anyone planning a run on sunday?

    In a nutshell, that’s correct.

Test the sensors by taping them in place, take care to make sure they don’t pick up your spare tire if you have one on a swing out.

You will need to extend the wiring harnesses as well, and they’re very thin gauge wiring.

    DIY Fabricobbler.

    You are kidding right? o_O

On a side note, I find that they get kinda hard over time and don't seal as well when I need them to. So, I replace them when they start to either feel a bit rigid or the sealing "depression" pretty much stays and does not recover after leaving the lid open for a bit. I also empty the fuel out at the end of the season of use and just leave the lid laying loosely closed so it does not readily allow moisture in, nor prematurely deform the sealing surface. I ordered a bunch of these seals from Amazon and keep them in my rig and garage for spares.

Was that just the parking sensors, or the blind spot monitor also?

This seal was hardened and I can see wear and tear on it, small cracks etc thats why I replaced it. It was years old already. I dont know if some of these are easy to pull off but this one was not.
