Yeah, I tried the pliers but got frustrated and had to walk away. I plan on going for round 2 later this evening.

A 1/4 extension should fit past the socket and make contact with the head. You could then get some meditation time in and smash the extension side into concrete until the head flys out. Obviously want to be cautious and protect your eyes.

Hold onto the socket when smashing.

Good Morning J A Y. Good to know I'm not alone!!
Well I got that bastard out this morning. I put the socket with stuck rusted head in a container of the Evapo-Rust and let it sit overnight. That was enough to break it lose after pulling and twisting on it.

Hey J A Y. Got side tracked on another project of mine, and a friends project. Spent yesterday flat on my back. A little over a year a go, I got out of bed like I always do to go to work and dropped to my knees because my back seized. No way to describe it. Went for an MRI and found out I have a bulging disk. So even after shots if I do certain things it gets aggravated:annoyed:! I hate it. In my mind I'm wanting to do things like when I was 18 but my freakin back just will not allow it. Frustrating.

Pics of the exhaust shields reinstalled with new stainless hardware.
Applied copper antiseize to all bolts.
Applied clear coat to the two shields that mount above the exhaust.

Any tricks I need to know on re-coating the black fender flares. My 2004 is Lunar Mist also.

Hey Bigdaddy! Appreciate the earlier compliment on the undercarriage. Go to post #40 in this thread reference the fender flares.

Before reinstalling the exhaust shields, I did a minor repair to the heat shield barrier that goes up against the firewall. I believe this is on the automatics only.
Much easier to do this with the shields off.

Used Thermo-Tec 13575 Adhesive Backed Aluminized Heat Barrier and heat reflective tape to put over where the oem barrier was fraying.
I cleaned the area with brake cleaner and lastly used rubbing alcohol before applying.
I would definitely use again. Great product.
