@Kwikvette you should make that deal with Dan... You've got the locker and are sending it out for install while he made this post 4 years ago

I guess the biggest difference is he never actually bought the locker to live under his bed

    Or a schematic?

Coil on the motor starter wasnt latching.

    Changed the contactor= nope
    Changed the stupid A-B push/pull button= Nope
Unwired the timer that makes it drop out after 4 mins= Nope

Finally I got it figured out when I unwired the NC contacts on the overload part of the contactor. Have a new one on the way, but a schematic wouldve helped me get there a lot quicker.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Sciatica and Moab slowed me down from getting the front diff ready to send out.

To be honest, I'm not looking forward to boxing it up and sending the fucker out (my biggest reason for not jumping on it right away).

It's in one of those Craftsman or Rubbermaid bins...

Pfffft, easier fix: just tape down the "Black button" on the contactor e7dfc5ecbb991b57f720dec4e61a554a.jpg

I had a coworker (new guy fresh out of trade school) tell me “yeah the breaker tripped but let me try resetting it a few times to see if it will catch incase its a bad breaker” I nearly shit myself when he said that. Had to yell at him not to do that ever

That shit bugs me to no end! I have to OEM customers that request all black wires for both power and control circuits  I cringe everytime I have to build one of their orders

That's why I prefer fuses over breakers. Sure their a pain in the ass but a blown fuse makes a person go "huh lemme figure out why that failed" while a tripped breaker more often than not causes a guy to just go flip it back like there's nothing wrong in the system

I will admit, sometimes I feed fuses to the machines. But not on purpose, always evaluate and adjust before popping in a new fuse and letting it rip.

At least here, if you quit willingly you lose unemployment benefits. Better to just take a walk and cool down

Yes they are VERY against it lol. Industry loophole is that we don't cert their panel and instead the customer has the entire machine UL certified.

Only 1 of those two customers actually paid to get his machine certified lol.. we're just waiting for the second guy to get popped so I don't have to build em anymore:rofl:

Nah man, management is on a kick about getting rid of lazy employees which means more automation to take over their job (where applicable) that I get to design and implement. Loving my job lately.

Thats the nice thing about working primarily on the maintenance side of things. I dont have to be super paranoid about color coding, though I try my hardest to.

We got quite a few of our machines from over seas. The color code in those countries is super confusing compared to what Im used to seeing. For example for 480v in Canada, apparently they use Black, Red, Blue. I see that and think 240v haha.

Ive blew fuses trying to diagnose before too. But never on anything crazy. Usally all low voltage 24ac or 10v dc stuff
