Hey guys so I recently installed a grey first gen supercharger . In the recent weeks I got lean bank 1 code, the sc has a constant squeal to it that doesn’t stop until I’m the gas. Also occasionally my transmission shifts a little late. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I already checked my vac lines and clean maf still no luck

Does 2002 still have a kick down cable? If so, adjust it all the way tight. This will increase the line pressure that holds the clutches together. I actually made a bracket on my truck that holds it fully tight all the time.

The lean issue can be fixed with 7th injector kit or Aem Fic 6.

You think the cel is on just because I need more fuel ? It’s idles semi rough I was thinking it’s an actual issue . Yeah I still have the kickdown cable , when u say tighten it all the way as in I’m moving both nuts all the way to the drivers side ?

    It should idle just fine.

You should be running Ik22 spark plugs.

For the cable.. Look at it with the truck off, then move the throttle pulley to the Wot position, see how it pulls the kick down cable longer as the throttle opens? You want to pull it as tight as you can (don't break it). This is much cheaper and easier to do than a shift kit inside the transmission.

Here is my kick down bracket. I pulled the cable all the way then made a little bracket to hold it in the position at all times. This keeps the line pressure at maximum, to help prevent the clutches from slipping. It has worked quite well for me with no issues so far. I do also have the largest B&m transmission cooler they sell. This keeps the fluid temps in check. It has been this way for 1.5 years, supercharged (6 psi), twin charged (13 psi) and just turbo (11psi). I can spin the 35" tires on the asphalt and beat on it all day in the desert with no problem. 20201028_195531.jpg

Right now I have ik20s in that’s what the guy Tim did in the YouTube video I watched. So I’m opening up the throttle all the way and tightening the kickdown cable while it’s opened ?

Sweet man I’ll start looking into a tranny intercooler . Any ideas on what the squeal can be ? I bought the supercharger used someone was telling me it might be the pulley ?

It doesn't have to be open for you to tighten it, I just wanted you to see how it is being pulled on as the throttle opens. Loosen the nuts for the kick down cable and back the adjuster out as far as you can, making sure the lock nuts can still be tightened back down. This is just a quick fix until you can make a bracket like mine. After this, let's focus on getting the truck to run better.

The squeal may be belt slip. Do you have the static or dynamic tensioner? It hopefully is not a bearing issue.

The dynamic tensioner , I’ll tighten up the cable tomorrow and post some better pics . Currently this is the only one I have

That pic shows you have slop in the KD cable. That is not good. The cable isn't even being pulled for 25 or so % of throttle input. You have more power now with less pressure holding the clutches. Tighten that asap.

    Thanks! I just modding things.
Just trying to help out with where I can.

Yeah I’ll get on it tomorrow before I take it out anymore . Any ideas on the squeal it dies off after I boost and then will come back . Apparently the blower was rebuilt before I purchased it but someone seems to think it’s the pulley

It's difficult to say without hearing it and being there to mess with it. Maybe the pulley was put on too tight? Idk. Hopefully not a bearing mis alignment or shotty work in the rebuild. You definitely need to figure that out.

I just cut, bent and welded aluminum plate I had laying around. You could do this out of steel as well. Or even use zip ties, I did that for awhile until I finally stopped being lazy and made a bracket.

You can see the KD cable zip tied to the radiator hose clamp. Haha, function over form!

I’ll link a video of it tomorrow, I’m pretty positive it’s not a bearing issue it spun fine when I turned it before buying it. So if I make one of the brackets it doesn’t get connected to the throttle body anymore ?

Nope, just max pressure all the time. You have (or should) have more torque available sooner in the rpm range, so you need more clamp force sooner to hold the power. This is the cheapest/easiest way to do that. I'm not giving you a warranty, but its working well for me.
