Well that’s the coldest shower I have had in awhile!

 

Still no power I assume

 

Nope. Been up pretty much since 1:30 with dog. Going to be a day.

 

Fuck me. I hope I've got it when I get home. You have Alabama Power or Dixie?

 

Tallapoosa Electric. Our Neighbors who lose power everytime a storm comes through have AL Power and they have power this morning.

 

I'm on Dixie. I hope they've got it back on. I have to admit, they're usually pretty good.

 

Cindy just took a drive in the hood. There was a trampoline and tree in the neighborhood roads.

 

Damn.…..gonna be some insurance claims later today

 

Found out why we don’t have power. A tree took out the power pole, transformer, and power line a block from the house.

 

At least it wasn't on your house...….silver lining and all

 

Power back on right as I’m about to walk out door.

 

Hope everybody made it thru Zeta alright with no damage.

ROUGH NIGHT: As expected, we experienced a high impact, widespread wind event across Alabama last night and early this morning as Tropical Storm Zeta moved through. Winds gusted as high as 76 mph across Central Alabama, knocking down thousands of trees. As I write this early this morning, Alabama Power reports 494,000 customers without power, and that number will only rise in coming hours. Many trees came down on homes and cars, but to my knowledge there have been no serious injuries in Alabama.

Highs winds over extreme Northeast Alabama will end very early this morning, and we expect improving weather across Alabama today as cooler, drier rolls in following Zeta’s passage. Temperatures will fall into the 60s this afternoon, and the sky becomes partly to mostly sunny by afternoon. Tonight will be clear and cool with a low in the mid 40s.

TOMORROW AND THE WEEKEND: Look for a mostly sunny sky tomorrow and Saturday; the high tomorrow will be in the mid 60s, followed by low 70s Saturday. We stay dry Sunday with a partly sunny sky; temperatures rise back into the low 70s.

NEXT WEEK: Colder air drops in here early in the week; the high Monday will be in the 56-61 degree range, and it looks like we will have widespread frost by early Tuesday morning, with potential for a freeze in the colder valleys. Then, we rise back into the low 70s over the latter half of the week. No rain is expected.

 

Shit got a little hairy up here. power’s been out since at least 1am. Got lucky on this tree, but judging by the rest of the property/driveway it’s gonna be a tractor and chainsaw day. Hope everyone is alright

 

@cubie did you find out what the problem with your truck was?

 

We never lost power. Internet was up and fine at 7 when I started working. It now decides to quit. Storms in North Carolina now. Smh.

 

Not yet Jeff. I’m going to pick up 6 new NGK iridium plugs after work today. Won’t be able to get to the truck until Saturday though. I’ll keep you updated my friend!

 

No damage at my place other than the flag pole getting ripped off the front porch. Very few limbs and debris in the yard. My yard looked super clean compared to all of my surrounding neighbors. Guy behind me has one of those white plastic privacy fences, It's gone, lol. Few trees fallen over hear and there but not as bad as Sally but pretty damn close. And power came back on at some point during the middle of the night. I saw no reason to sit at home so I came on into the office.

Hoover city schools just canceled for the day.

 

I never lost power and slept through the whole thing. Barley any limbs down near me or on my way to work.
