When doing the dongle trade in, you get eh master key for vf for original customers right? That is what I understood, I guess I had my terminology wrong

Yes. Coming from a dongle, you will need both a Master Key and a REG file to fully use vF plus the Tune Pack of your choice. For the dongleless folks, we just needed the Master Key and Tune Pack.

Got a new ptttg1 table I've been testing this week.

Similar to my first where i put the factory table in part and the ovtune table in the other.

Except this time i used the factory gear 4 table and massaged it into the ovtune table.

I've been testing it with the stock pttt table and stock atrta tables combined with acis low at 2700 and high at 3700

Also changed one single row in the ara table

The low acis moved to 2700 really smoothed out that jump at 2500 (where it was)

I moved the high to 3700 since i shift around 3500 normally and that kick right as i shifted drove me nuts.

Can't wait for the new update to work on that stutter in low rpm

Also i have been testing a theory that tapping the brake pedal between shifts stops rev hang. I'm not sure but so far doing this i haven't had it hang yet (2 days)

I had this thought while testing dfco in first gear the other day. It seemed to activate engine braking sooner if I barely touched the brake pedal.

So right when i let off the gas to shift I've been bumping the brake pedal with my right foot as i push the clutch in, just enough to trigger the switch.

If anyone else wishes to test this theory and report back, it's awkward for sure btw. And i bet the cars behind me are like....wtf

I hate, HATE!, to rain on this, but I might have just gotten a message that both DFCO and RH are gone in the next version?

    Let's see what drops?

You don't think I would tap the brake all the time for a rev hang fix do you?

    Probably not.

    Just found it interesting.

Not as interesting as what you just posted though

Nah. Just was feeling bad about the work that you put in.

For me, the RH cure is selecting the gear first, the rev matching. It seems to suit the speed of shifts on the Taco.

OK, got VF set up and am trying to edit. Following post 1. but how do I do this?
"Highlight area from 45.833 to end of map on load axis, and from 300 to 1000 on RPM axis - increase area by 10%"

How do I increase this selected area by 10%?

Do you all reset your learned values when you flash a new tune?

Only once when I upgraded ecu versions. Once I flashed a VF tune, I never reset them again

Are doing all the tweaks in the first post in one file recommended?

So we have been trying different things.

@tonered has created individual threads for some of the different things to separate them.

With that said, he also has a spread sheet with all of his current changes in it that you could literally copy and paste from.

    What ecu version are you?

Like i said before, i have made a ton of different changes. Possibly more than anyone else in the mt side.

I have made changes that some of the guys like and use, i have made some that they didn't like.

So far, even right now, I'm not even using the maps that are in the first posts anymore.

Not because they aren't good, just because I'm testing different things.

We don't understand fully what each system does and through tweaking and testing we are trying to learn what each one does.

If you are looking to have smooth power delivery ptt1 changes can help the most, but you lose some of that performance feel.

If you like the feel of 2.0 but want to take some of the lumpy out, then following @tonered maps should get you there.

He has a very smooth running set of changes, a mix of his own work, ovtune suggestions and others. I ran it for 2 weeks or so but as i continue to test i am finding other things i like but don't play well with some of those other changes.

Also ovtune has any update coming that is supposed too have functionality that is beneficial to us.

I have been chasing rev hang and dfco and the lumpy low rpm stuff.

The next update has items that should address all three of those potentially.

I was also added to the fuel pump recall and very well could be chasing symptoms of a failing fuel pump

Fwiw, I don't have any idea what ov and you mean when you talk about lumpy low end... I also do not fall into the recall. It could very well be a fuel pump thing

    Thank you.
I guess I will start with ptt1 ( I assume you mean only editing gear one table, not the target table) and see where that takes me.

Where is @tonered current spreadsheet tweaks? Perhaps I'll look into them more

Thank you for your help. Y'all have been very helpful.

There are some odd variance between different Tacos. Some are unicorns, some are grumpy.

For the 3D and 4D maps where there are separate threads, map spreadsheets are attached to the 1st Posts with versions of each noted.

For 1D and 2D maps, there is no need for spreadsheets as the values are few and quick to enter.
