Same here, they came in the factory boxes from Toyota. Fedex still managed to puncture a hole and break the tab.

Both of mine arrived at the dealership broken. Luckily they checked them when they showed up. Parts manager said Toyota writes them off and they toss them in the dumpster. Haha.

Just the headlight box? or a box in a box?
Cause mine was a box in a box.

I assume they all do. He said Toyota doesn’t want them back, so they toss them. I don’t know if they’re not allowed to sell defective parts for some kind of liability reasons or something. I’d guess that Toyota tells them to discard them.

If I worked at one of these dealers I’d be doing some dumpster diving after work and making some extra money lol

This is common, insurance requires them to toss them. It’s a big no no to get them out of the trash if you are employed by the dealership too.

Doesn’t mean the dealer can’t tell their friends!

yeah, it kinda does if the dealer doesn’t want to lose his insurance and right to be a dealer for Toyota. It’s basically insurance fraud or theft.

It’s not worth it for them when they get it covered.

Once they’re in the dumpster then they’re fair game!

My local homedepot does this on basically all returned items. Since there have been a lot of dumpster divers, homedepot now destroys all the items before tossing it out.

The guy that does it says it is the best stress relief to just take a chainsaw and break things, and get paid to do it.

Ikea does this at their warehouses. It's fun destroying stuff but not when you have to do it all day piece by piece.

So, those little blue clips, anyone got a source? Slippery little suckers they are.

For adjusting aim what tool are people using? I tried #2 Philips (shank too big) and #1 Philips (didn’t turn the gears). Don’t think I tried flat head yet though. Thinking round shank is necessary.

My multi tool set, with hex bits did not work. The shape of the shank prevent it from turning. Had to be a cylindrical shank.

I used an ancient #2 Phillips. Which has been in my family's tool box since before i was born.

Just use a 10mm gear wrench on the bolt instead of a screwdriver if you’re having issues finding a screwdriver that will work.

Thanks! I was thinking round #2 Phillips but hadn't tried that yet. I think I have one in my kids tool box...
