Speaking of....I ordered one for my truck.

Amazon says it delivered Monday; got that notification on Tuesday.

    There was no radio

Have to wait a few days in case it "turns up" which sucks but we'll see. Wasn't cheap either.

That sucks, if it was a Prime item though they should send another without any fuss. Someone probably yoinked it or the delivery driver decided to treat himself

Saw an article the other day about the big downside to Amazon's lenient return policy, basically the majority of what people return goes straight into a landfill lol. Especially after Covid. Pretty messed up

    Fuck that sucks.

I'm thinking FedEx delivered it to the wrong place or didn't deliver it at all.

I say this because I've bought a few items here and there and even electronics made it at my doorstep at the apartment, only to be waiting for me when I got home late at night from work.

Monday I worked, but I did stop by my apartment during lunch and nothing was there.

Just a a suggestion but if you want to keep it small AND in California it’s probably best to move this to PM conversation thing.

True but there can always be room for more if others opt out.

That and it serves as an area to have a larger discussion as a whole, bullshit, and post pics once all is said and done.

    Really, the idea for the last one stemmed from;

Other threads where meets/gatherings have happened and just bull shitting about the idea.

Maybe we just have different views you and I.

    Nah, those are fair points.
Edit: I just recall a couple trips with so many trucks wheeling was unrealistic.

Oh dude that's why it was so perfect, considering the people that worked in Moab said "it's the busiest they've ever seen it in 10-15 years"

Yet we still secured camp, and still went wheeling and sight seeing.

    So Anyway, back on topic.

I had an idea back in June when I was out of work to start on dirt somewhere around Fresno and drive north and stay on dirt for as long as possible or until work called.
I made it 3 days when work called so I didn’t get far.

Yeah I couldn't do a trip with a couple dozen or more rigs, unless it was at a big campground with a lot of trail options and the group was broken up into smaller ones. I've been to a couple meetups like that.

Definitely prefer the smaller ones especially if it's a single trail we're running, Moab is a good place for a larger group since everyone can decide to do different things if there are that many people. But if we end up doing a specific technical 4x4 trail I would personally not want more than maybe 6 rigs in the group, but you can always stagger start times if there are more than that.

For multi day wheeling trips across many miles, those are the kinds of trips I would definitely only take to PMs to keep the group smaller and more intimate. The 2 times I ran Mojave Road that's what we did and it worked out great, but that's a 150 mile trail spread out over 3 - 5 days

    Man that sucks.

Some of us requested time off pretty far in advance to make sure we could all make it.

Something about the snow up there catching fire, so that probably won't do.

Did that area get hit bad? I have not kept up with all of that, just saw a couple hazy days in the Midwest as smoke made its way overhead

Now that I think of it I’ve done like a dozen long distance 2-3k mile, 1-3 week trips either solo or one other truck or a couple motorcycles.
I haven’t done a super long trip with more than that.
