He must've relocated like half the shit in the engine bay. I'm sure that 1,000ft/lbs of torque without those pesky EGR and DPF systems make these trucks rocket ships, even if you just throw a tuner on it stock. It is incredible how effective variable vein turbos are. I was looking at swapping a 6.0 turbo onto my 7.3. I think someone out there somewhere makes a controller for the VGT. That would be so badass! :burnrubber:
    Probably much much more!

I bet that Super Duty is a lot more. That's not a base trim model, you can tell by the LED headlights so it's Lariat or higher so $60k minimum to buy. Fully built long block the way he has it set up is going to be at least $20k at a minimum, another $10k for the tranny, add in the turbos, custom tuning and who knows what ever else to make that system actually function would run $5-10k at least. You're at $100k with me downplaying all of the parts involved. I bet he's got $130k+ into that truck all day.

There has to be a limit to the power you can put into a drivetrain. At what point do you just rip things apart in these trucks with all this ridiculous torque?

Well, I think that the Big Three all have the computers for their diesels mapped so that you don't get all of the torque 0 mph. But even so, the engineering is seriously impressive.

Depending on the source, the limit for the stock drive train is between 6-800 hp. That thing has a fully built block and tranny and i’d venture to say is putting out over 1,000 hp and possibly 2,000 ft lbs of torque. I’d imagine you’d never get enough traction to dry anything upstream.

If I'm reading the Ford crap correctly, mine won't let it generate full power until 3rd gear. That said, custom tuning can get rid of any and all of the nanny bullshit in a hurry. A few minutes with my truck hooked up to a laptop and I can get rid of the torque management in the low gears.

Last night I looked at the weather and decided to suck it up and put all my skid plates back on in the dark since it was going to rain.

at least I did one thing smart. Yeesh. Trails are going to be soupy this weekend.

Are you looking to drop sick beats in your off time? Or are you trying to make a new Overlanding fad adding a turntable mount to a roof tent for raves at the KOA?

I bet he's starting a new genre; Rock Hop. Instead of somebody manually scratching a record, you strap the player to the highest point of your rig and let it play while you lurch your way through a rock garden.

I bet I could do that in my truck just rolling down a highway, no rock garden needed. Load Range E tires FTW!

No, they're just really stiff tires and the truck has stiff springs. The tires are load index 123. When I bought the black wheel/tire combo, they were off a 350 which, I didn't realize, has a stiffer tire than what my 250 came with. I'm running 60 front and 50 back now. I could probably drop 5-10 psi off the front and another 5 off the back and be alright.

Nope, I'm just trying to get let my inner audiophile out! Of course it doesn't help that I'm deaf in one ear and have tinnitus in the other!!!
