Exactly what im going to have to do sighh.. already stressing out with people trying to point out the company instead of the issue.

From what they said though the replacement would be installed for free. However i do not want there product at this point. I would rather sell the replacements.

Well that’s because you already got screwed  we are trying to protect ourselves now  But seriously, looks like other than the 250 install charge, they tried to take care of you. And you were able to contact them, that’s better than many companies

That $250 could of been used for something else. I would of not have Demello take them off and put them back on if i knew they were faulty to begin with, just to lose $250

I will just have to take the replacements from the sound of it. I wont be a returning customer though.

Understood. I’m not saying you should be happy about the 250. I think they should have refunded that charge when it was clear the issue wasn’t an install problem. And if you do business like that, eventually it will cost you more than the 250 you chose not to refund your customer

When we buy small-batch fabricated parts for these trucks we accept some variability and long lead times, and the chance of some hassle.

    In my opinion:

-The $250 should be refunded. If they can’t fix their own screw-up as a “warranty inspection”, that’s just totally lame. $250 isn’t going to sink their company.

-The company did you a solid by offering you a new set, which you unfortunately will have to wait for, but that’s life. They are treating you right here.

I understand. I was actually very glad that they would offer replacements to me. But after i learned i was not going to get a refund for the $250 thats when it turned me off from the company completely.

The replacements have been done since october 15th but i did not want them. I already returned the old ones. They offerred to install the new ones for free. But i do not want their sliders or their services after not being able to give me a refund on the $250 for the faulty ones. I do not want their brand on my truck at all.

Fair enough. I can see how that would get under one’s skin.

Take the sliders and sell them and forget about the $250, someone will be happy to skip the lead time. Oooor have them install the new sliders hence getting your $250 worth and call it a day. Either way it’s a bit of a bummer but probably best to just move on.

Talk about being biased towards the company. Everything i said will be the same thing they are going to say. But i dont mind hearing it again from them.

Exactly. My plan is going to be to sell them and someone will be happy to skip the lead time. I am very unhappy to lose those $250 for something that shouldnt of been lost.

    These lead times are BS...
I could go down to the metal supply store, get the materials, fab up a set using my coma as a template, make a weld fixture, manufacture them, go to the local powdercoat place and within a week I could start production...all by myself.

So if these manufacturers have THAT many orders then something is wrong...you did all the R&D, you made the weld fixtures, you have access to all kinds of materials, you have a powdercoater on stand by.....what is the issue??? Maybe that slow boat from china is a bit slower than you thought??
Maybe hire a few more MIG welder people???

I used to work in R&D at a motorcycle exhaust manufacturer, I designed, made and dyno tested the systems. I know what it takes working with the engineer setting up the item master routing, making fixtures for production. THAT is all the hard work, manufacturing is the ...relatively easy pert. So when they say 4-6 whatever lead times ,,,,fishy

    PS good luck

I think in a lot of cases they only have a few fabricators/welders. If they have bed racks, skids, sliders, bumpers etc, they just get backed up and don’t feel like they can stretch themselves thin by hiring more people. So they just extend lead times

I addressed that issue......ALL the R&D was done...production is the easy part, if you are backlogged...hire more MIG welders. There are plenty of people out of work these days....

I understand that, I’m saying some would rather just increase the lead times than hire more people.

And that is exactly how you wind up with these issues....
    OR
The slow boat from china was a little slower than they expected.
I don't see much in the way of a production going on at the address from the satellite photo.
