@CorbinDallas First I would open your tune file you want to edit (Whichever that is)

Octane shouldnt matter as we arent messing with fueling or Ignition timing.

I compared values for the premium, reg, FOB and base and on all the tables i modified they were identical.

After opening that file, export it with a different file name. i named mine (MOD) This is the barebones one that i modify, it has the settings that i start with on every new modification.

After exporting i would change the following.

Torque model-Torque calculated base during full throttle - Change them ALL to 5000

Throttle Airflow- First gear throttle limits 2hi, 4hi, 4lo, reverse. I changed them ALL to 100. I do NOT want the truck to limit my throttle input, ever, for any reason, if i can avoid it. I learned to drive on manuals with no traction, abs, stability etc. They drive better, period.

Airload Control -Control Airflow and Expected airload. Go to @tonered post in the performance and tuning forum (this one) and find his excel sheet on this. Either copy and paste the values from his or copy and paste the values from OVtune 04b04 into both the .99 and .82 Lambdas (they are identical on each lambda but not on each map) I am currently using Tony's smoothed version

ACIS activation - High (the first of 3) and LOW (the first of 3) The high setpoint i put at 3700 (despite Mat saying 3400 is the sweet spot) I find it smoother. The LOW setpoint i moved to 2700, same reason, its smoother, period. If i lost 20lbft of torque...i dont care. (this is optional)

After doing those changes, save your file. This is your new baseline. Any additional changes you make, export your new file with a new name and make the changes you want, then save. This will keep the STOCK 2.0 tune with your Baseline changes for future modifications, or if you wish to start over (like i did)

    example:

    filenames.jpg

As you see, MOD is my baseline. PTTG4OVHYB is my PTTG1 Table only, then i added Request to Airload (RTA) (my current file im personally running) and Linear throttle request to Airload, which i have not tried yet with this file (i have a different idea for this that i will test and update my findings)

Now like i have said, i have tested many many many different scenarios. I have sent some to a couple of people. some are running some of my stuff, some didnt like it. These changes only change throttle response, etc. They are feel based. You may not like what someone else did. In the end, so far im only running 2 modifications from my "BaseLine" I have saved files from the ones i sent to other people, because i like them too, but they are not perfect, so im still working.

The best PTTTG1 table i have made yet is.

    pttg4ovhybrid.jpg

This one is a Hybrid between the factory gear 4 table and ovtunes. The left half was the stock gear 4 table, the right half was OVtunes gear 1 table. I then smoothed it out to create a transition from lower to higher values (Mats are very high) It allows for a smooth on throttle transition, the bump from engine braking to acceleration is minimized without killing the low end. With that said, if you wish to increase the low end sensitivity, you could add to it in 10% increments whereever you feel necessary. Understand that if you change any of the low end values by even .5 it can make a large effect.

The excel sheet is attached so you can copy and paste if you wish.

On the Request to airload table i only changed 2 lines. The top is modified, the bottom is stock (and ovtune) I honestly dont know if i feel a difference in this change or not. but it didnt do anything negative, so im not changing it back.

650 and 800 RPM - sorry im not making a spread sheet for those two lines if you wish to have these values just add them to one line and copy to the other.

    RTA.jpg

My next change will be to the Throttle request to airload table. Making it linear (ctrl+i) on the whole map, works really well, if you wish to do that, do that. I currently have it stock, but am at minimum going to linear until i find a reason to do otherwise.

now, to the PTTT table. As i said, i decided to make the whole map THE WHOLE THING 0. It changed stuff, but it didnt do anything detrimental, i could still accelerate (slower) and it had less engine braking (alot)

Then i made the whole table -10.75 (the current lowest value, i have gone lower without ill effects) This change made no difference from 0 EXCEPT that one time, on one shift, it thunked HARD, i mean HARD when i let off the throttle and pushed the clutch. However it did not do what i thought it would.

Im currently on the STOCK PTTTT table, BUT you can also make it linear (which is smooth as silk BTW) Tony has a good one, i would use his if you wish to go that route. HOWEVER, his minimum values in the 0 range do seem to affect engine braking some.

In the end, the best and biggest effects i have felt is to the PTTTG1 table. You can easily make your truck accelerate way to agressively and jerky, or you can make it so bad you can barely take off on a hill (i got stuck with that one for a week almost when my computer updated and changed my system ID)

This was a lot of typing, snipping, etc. In the end, you wont find what you like until you tinker with it. Hopefully these examples help you understand what we have found through our trials and errors.

Nice summary. I will link that up and the spreadsheet in its thread.

Just one thing. ALC V4 is @MOC221_ 's. It is an edit of my V3. I would use V4.

    You're welcome!

I have not tested it because I am so freaking happy at the moment. I will wrap that into my own Version 8 tune when @OVTune puts down the hammer.

@tonered I think you spread sheet might need some attention. Look closely at the
AirLoad Control - Control AirFLow Lambda 0.82
and notice the gap on column R

    Which one? V2, V3, or V4?

V3 has a couple small creases, but I just stuck with the averaging function between three columns.

select all the cells that have values in them and hit copy

when you go to the map, select all the cells by hitting ctrl+A

dont use Ctrl+v to paste, it doesnt work. right click and hit paste.

Ok, I made these changes and about to flash. Slightly nervous, not going to lie, lol

What I would really love is to get the feel of the stock 04B14 (TSB) but with better first gear response and a little of the OV magic everywhere else.

To be honest, If I had not spent the money early for OV, I would stay on the 04B14 TSB but I feel compelled to at least run 2.0 and fine tune a few things since I paid the money.

I am just wondering what you are seeing in Column R? That would be the top of the rotated map here:

    upload_2020-10-30_7-36-47.jpg

I smoothed a few of the values to eliminate creases. This is what that map looked like without smoothing:
