another lesson in life - Never ever leave any service provider (especially the Mothership) without checking for damage and incomplete work even if it is something simple like new tires, a tire rotation, or oil change. They always find a way to F' it up. I've seen many cases of loose lugs, wheels fall off and no oil after the Stealer "completed all work."

This would be my thought too as I'm certain that with as closely as @Mooseditty17 has been paying attention to his motor with all the tuning he is doing that he would've noticed the sound change with an open intake. It should be very noticeable at wot

Sounds about the same as I have a KN blackhawk intake. What was a dead give away, is when trying to reconnect, the bottom half of the coupler was folded in. They thought they had it, but didn't. Then the half clamped intake tube probably worked it way off completely, over time. How long?????

OK, after getting my new .reg key (thank you corrupted drive requiring a re-image and trashing my flash utility registration) I finally got around to trying the MD.Prem_Perf+GL_v3.0 tune...
Drove a good bit today on it, and WOW. Really liking the tip-in, overall throttle response and shifting.
    Big thanks to.. Let's see...
    @PapaRee (for making it "premium")
@Mooseditty17 (for the original mods to the 2.0)
And of course to @OVTune for making it all happen

VERY happy with how my truck is driving now, and loving the options to tweak it to my liking! I really appreciate everyone working to make this what it is.

For anyone who is running one of my or @PapaRee's tunes:

Which is your favorite, and why?

I need to settle on a daily driver tune. I'm keeping the "Wild mode" with ETC on.
I keep chasing shift points, and it's gotta stop!

I’ve been pretty happy with your latest version with the super ETC mode. It drives really good just I take a big hit on my mileage compared to the stock 2.0 tune, which is given for a performance variant tune.
EDIT: Not the latest mild/wild...didn't see that one come out, will be flashing now to compare! Was referring to the version before that.

I'm running the mild/wild premium tune adjusted for my tires and AGM. Love it. The previous version was a little too touchy for me for in/around town driving.

Been thinking of trying these regular octane tunes. They sell 85 octane here in UT, will it have any issue running the regular 87 tune?

ECT PWR is where I have settled in for now - nice mix of the best of both. Did mod for 4.88 and stock tire size - averaged 22.5 mpg on last tank which was mountain driving in combination of D and S mode. May flip to a Tow version from @PapaRee once spring comes and camper towing in back in play. Nice work and thank you!

I'm totally tumbleweed on the latest and greatest edits you guys have been making for 04A61. Really all the ECUs as changes get propagated to others. How can I best get up to speed? Does that count as a pun? If so, totally intended.

I asked Moose to make a tune that met certain requirements: reg gas, no low rpm lugging in higher gears, a towing option and lowering TC temps. The result was 04A61_Jim.Reg_Perf+Tow. D mode shifting up and down is perfect for any acceleration city or hwy. Hangs on to gears like I want and does not gear hunt. Torque converter temps well within normal operating range. Last two fill ups yielded a distance to empty of 518 km. That is an increase of 35 km from many fillups before I ran this tune. Haven’t used ECT very much because I’ve had no need of it. I suspect I’ll be giving it a work out in S mode next camping season.

    Very impressive. Nice job @Mooseditty17

I have the 3.0 perf tune in 4.88’s and GL didn’t wrk at all on the freeway. It would shift from 6th to 5th with or without ECT in S mode

I'm sure because of the 4.88 gears, the gearlock shift points will have to be increased.

You can run 93 on a Regular file. And gain some HP from it too. Just don't run Regular on a Premium tune.

What you applied to your tune should affect it the way you want it to. But setting the upshift values that low mayyyyyy bog you down if you are going at the minimum speed and decide to upshift. It looks like the bare minimum downshift speeds occur at around 600 RPM so when you are coasting/slowing down its smooth and efficient, using those same values for upshifting is probably not a good idea..

But yes it does take a couple shift cycles for the truck to learn the new maps you have. I experienced this as well when I first tried out the gearlocking. If it does not go away and its still shifting when it shouldnt be it could be that you either didnt set the downshift speeds low enough in your table or your gear ratio or tire size that you've input may be affecting the shift tables just enough to allow downshifting in ECT. (I have not quite confirmed that gear ratio and tire size tables correlate to the shift tables but I have reasonable suspicion that they do..)

Right, but you know, been thinking of making the switch to regular octane to save a few bucks. (Even though a few weeks ago I said it wasn't much of a difference in $ lol)

So just wondering if the 85 octane will be bad...or if my elevation makes up for it.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing automatic shifts when using one of Moose's GL tunes. I thought I was legit going crazy.

Can't wait until OVTune releases a GL system (hack?) that doesn't rely on the S+ECT, since it's not optimal... but it's a good stop-gap solution in the meantime. The OR/Pro features (Crawl/MTS) that are only on the Autos, but paired with a robust GL to simulate a Manual is like the holy grail IMO.

It's been raining around here, and I've definitely spun more tire in the last few days than I have in the first 4 years of owning this truck combined lol.
