look good, no. I lifted mine 3" and it looks kind of goofy with stock tires. Getting 33s soon

Tacomas always look good.... but seriously, its all a matter of what you like and what you think.

A mild lift with stock tires probably won't be all that noticable and still look normal.

What do you consider a mild lift?

Why throw away your money on a 1" or 2" lift? besides I don't think you can even get a 1" or 2" suspension lift. So I assume your thinking of either a 1" body lift or a 2" leveling kit. Either way it's gonna look awkward. But everybody has their own opinion.

Sounds like your wanting a 2" leveling kit. Takes out the rake of the tacoma. I did that to mine and it looked awkward till I added a AAL to the rear and got bigger tires.

I stuck with the stock (265/70R/16) tires with a 2" lift (front and back) and it didn't look all that bad but I wanted to fill up the wheel well a bit more. At 15,000 I changed out the stock tires to 265/75R/16 and am very pleased with how it turned out... no vibrations, the cv angles look great, and didn't have to do any trimming.

Billies at .85 in the front + 1" AAL(or TSB leaf) = 1" suspension lift and it's expandable if you want to add Eibachs or OME's later on in the front and swap out AAL's in the rear.

With 1-2" of lift all around I think it'd look fine on stock size tires. I'd look better if those tires were more aggressive than the stock but that's a personal preference.

I lifted mine 3inches and it looked pretty weak with 245/75 16's on it. After I put the 265/75 16's on it completely changed the look of the truck. I am now very happy with my truck. Its suttle, but looks and performs way better.

    What this guy said.

With the stock 245's on stock sucked in wheels, it didn't look any more retarded with 3" of lift than stock, it just didn't look right with factory wheels sucked in and essentialy street/AT tires.

You gotta do your home work man, and just consider the options in my opinion. I have the 4 cyl myself, and temporarily ran 31's w/o a lift. There was a negligable amont of power loss, but enough that I wasn't happy with it. I went back down to stock, and put a 2.5'' lift on it w/ wheel spacers, and in my taste like it. It's all up to you. Good luck :)
