wow i just finished my mini morimoto retrofit and i could not be happier, but then i got to thinking these are waaaaay fucking brighter than the xenons i had on my bmw and mazda! so i called trs again and talked to matt, i asked him what the top of the line projector he thought there was on the market he told me plain as day it was the LS 460 so i said shit send them to black flame customs and have them begin making me a custom retrofit all blacked out with the LS 460 projectors. apparently they have these reflectors that bounce the light around in the housing in such a way that the beam not only pierces far down the road but has amazing clarity to the cut off but also throws down such a wide clear section of light matt told me that he felt confident in saying that they would appear to be 2x brighter than the mini morimoto set up i have now:eek: so i do think i will be selling the set up i have now for the right price. i just have to wait for black flame to finish up on the LS set upthen i will be selling a complete kit with morimoto ballasts 35 watt morimoto 5000k bulbs the harness and the retrofitted headlights with minid2s projectors in them.

i originally was going to go for the Q45 multiple projectors but the light out put is no where near as good as the LS460 setup. plus just for the projectors they are something like 1200 bucks:eek: then the install would be nuts due to the huge size of the projector. so as soon as i get these fuckers in my truck i will post pics for you guys. let me know what you think about the LS 460 projectors and if you have had any personal experience with them or know someone who has.

110 for new lights, 475 for labor paint and the retrofit 390 for the new projectors and bulbs.close to a grand i guess so its on par price wise with most factory options out there, but the light out put and durability will be 2x as good.

when i get something in my head i can't get it out lol. first i just wanted to add hid lighting to my rig in the proper way then i saw how good the mini's are and thought to myself i bet there is a way better projector out there which will give me even better lighting. then i got on the phone with trs and while i was talking with matt he told me about the 460's projectors and i was like shit i gotta have them lol. but the retrofit itself is way more involved than doing the mini's so i'm going to have black flame do it for me cutting of the feflector bowl and shit like that then mounting them rock solid is a bit out of my league. plus they will back up the headlights for moisture matt at trs recomended them he said they did the LS460 set up in his fj and it looks sweet.

of the LS 460 set up? if so matt at trs has a fj that black flame retrofitted for him it looks pretty sweet. the projector it self is quite large so it will fill our trucks reflector bowl out nicely when i switched between the gatling shroud to apollo the apollo was considerably larger in diameter and i really liked the look of it. so i can't wait to see what these look like they must take up every centimeter in an fj's housing though.

me too i have never seen the fxr in person i hear that they are a quality peice though. matt told me these where at the top of the heap though. i was going to go with an fxr when i called up but then he sold me on the 460 setup as they have additional reflectors in the housing that greatly increases peripheral lighting and superior optics to the fxr.

the minis are very nice! they are brighter than any stock set p i have ever had on my bmw z4 and my mazda 3 and these are way better than the ones on my old 3 series e46 waay better the clear lenses make a world of difference. fresnel lenses are shit in my opinion clear lenses are so much more crisp and colorful they are actually kinda pretty to look at and compared to our stock halogen headlights they are 2x brighter with out blinding oncoming motorist. i read about the minis on here and i did not even know about the LS460 or sk2's until going onto trs and really looking around at which biexnon projectors are good hid planet is a good source of info as well. the minis are respectable projectors though so in my opinion they are a great choice

i must be wearing orthodics, because i stand corrected lol! while the 430 projector is not a bixenon it def appears like it has the same reflector technology in it. that vid is wild the beam went all the way across that guys front yard and up to the house.
to my knowledge the LS 430 is only a low beam and its a completly different projector all together. the 460 utilizes a bi xenon set up and the reflector housing has those additional sheilds or what ever they are to give a super wide beam. matt from trs had said they where the only projectors to do that so i think that they will be substantially different.

LS430 has the widest beam in the market, the downside is that there is no highbeam

i rather light up a 5 lane freeway at night then use highbeams, but thats just me, plus the shrouds match the reflectors very well

you cant go wrong with LS460's, anything is better then pnp
