So yeah, I pulled up the spec sheets. Auto on the right. MT on the left. You may be correct. Speakrs Sub and Amp missing on MT. Thats shitty.
    upload_2020-10-29_11-26-42.jpg

Also, Service Connect with 10-year trial AT - No Service Connect, Remote Connect on MT (I'm guessing that's the app that starts your car from your phone?)

    @canyonchaser that's Awesome! - Congratulations!
I hope mine (- An upcoming clone of yours) is coming soon... (I am told my dealer has snagged one - an allocation - but remains to be built...).

I had spotted the sound system and bits of tech differences... I like the lack of push start and other things that suit the Manual better.
But I may be looking to upgrade the speakers - and Amp maybe?
Let me know your thoughts on the sound system as I have a bit of waiting to do for my truck still...

I for sure will. I'm not much of an audiophile any more. Age does what it does, so I mostly listen to podcasts/NPR/The Daily and occasionally listen to music at a modest tone. So as long as it sounds okay, I'll probably be happy. And having more back seat storage may be more valuable to me in the long run. (trying to stay positive) :)

Just surprising to me that a PRO MT would scrimp on things that don't have any connection to the transmission. If I'd have known, I'd probably pulled my sub/amp out of my current tacoma befor trading.

Right, I have no idea why a certain transmission would make it so you don't get JBL. But when you think about it, this is their flagship Tacoma and they put those shitty tires on them.

They want you focused on RPM’s and the powerband instead. :D

So it really doesn't look hardly at all the same in real life. It's a real dusty, greyish with a sagebrush undertone. The nearest correlation I can make is the lighter green in ACU camo.

Did they ask you if they could drill your front bumper?

Yeah. I was less than thrilled about that. So they are making up for it with a deal on the factory roof rack.

Thanks for solving that mystery for me! I have a '19 OR MT and have always wondered why I didn't get JBL. I checked all the boxes - Premium, Tech, etc. How could I have missed it? Now I know that it's due to the MT (for some strange reason..). I'd rather have the MT. And, now I have an excuse to upgrade the audio...

No JBL but it still sounds great.

after 500 miles I’ve noticed a few things:
    1. It takes quite a bit of cranking to start. Maybe twice as long as my 4runner. Not an insanely long time but longer than expected.
    2. The TRD exhaust is annoying at freeway speeds.
    3. It’s FAST! Maybe it’s the manual but it feels pretty fast.
    4. The gps isn’t terrible, and the number of available voice commands is pretty amazing.
    5. WiFi hotspot works great!!!
    6. FM reception is constantly cutting out in the S.F. Bay Area. I’ve never had a vehicle do this.
    7. For all the buzz about the LED headlights, I think my 4runner halogen lamps have higher irradiance!
    8. This thing is made for San Francisco!!! Soaks up pot holes, it’s pretty narrow, a loud horn, happy it get a little air. . I really love this truck!!

Only one quick canyon for me. Breaking it in with lots of ups and downs, acceleration and slowing...

Seriously. This thing is noticably quicker than my 2nd Gen. It's pulls strong and I'm being light on the throttle. The added wheel torque of the MT is very nice. I don't know what people are on about the 4.0 being a better motor. This 3.5 is peppy! I mean, it wants to stretch it's legs, but it's got legs. (maybe it's the MT letting me put the motor where it wants to be?)

There is more body roll than my 2nd Gen, but the way it deals with shit roads is really impressive.

I've yet to turn on the radio.

But man, I'm quickly becoming very smitten with this thing.
