Come to think of it.... I've installed/bolted on/replaced everything on my truck, except for the exhaust reroute.

Well, and the Toyotacare maintenance.

Shops bills can buy a lot of tools.

 

yup the only thing i need a shop for right now is a press for my lower control arm bushings then maybe my truck will be fixed

 

I do the cost benefit analysis of me buying the tool/s required and how much a shop would charge for work I need. If the tool costs less, I don't care if it takes me four times as long, I'll buy the tool and do it myself. I like doing stuff and I like tools. So it's really a win-win.

Needless to say, I have a few tools now.

 

I'd think just about any machine shop or welding shop can press those for you. Does it take something special? Would somewhere like Cottman do it?

 

Any old press ought do it. it's just the rubber bushings in the lower arms.

 

I know what you get paid, you can afford this.

 

Oh lol, I don't know what I was thinking.

I feel like you could put those in with two washers, a nut, and a bolt. But who am I to judge?

Yeah that'd work. It'd be really easy to use too with an impact.

lol i aint got room atm lol thats why i havent bought shit for tools i need to get things re organized so things will work

 

A grade 8, 3/8-16 bolt has 7000lb of clamping force when torqued to 45ft/lb. Save your money on the press lol

 

ive seen people do that but if you get it in wrong and gouge the poly bushing it causes issues lol

 

@Slashaar don't use an impact if you do that... you'll destroy something torquing it with an impact lol
