Just keeps you from swapping over parts to other bikes unless you are the same across the board. Like you said, annoying.

Noice. My claim to fame is sharing the podium with the Chris Joice guy once - he only beat me by 35 miles! lolol

It's a regional favorite trail system in Knoxville. Super long jump lines and pump tracks

Knoxville is becoming a southeastern MTB hot spot. Year round access and plentiful mileage...and Windrock

New bikes are fun, you know where I stand :)

Remember that hardtail geo are going to get steeper and lower when you sit on it and compress the fork, the opposite of FS. I had a fun aggressive Brit steel HT (Ragley), which I really liked, but my knees didn't. Go for it!

Yes, ran them for a while. Good grip, a little surfy at times. Very similar in terms in overall grip to the DHF, but it feel very different. You need to trust it and let it rail, where as the DHF just digs in. It can be a little off-putting when going from DHF -> Vigi, but the price is right. I had the light and grippy one. One big downside is longevity and weight. They are heavy and don't last very long at all. Overall, I won't run them again. My priority is grip on the front, and there is no tire that offers the grip of the Assegai.

YES!!!! You'll love the thing. Play with the shock so that you get the right pedal support. Not sure your weight, but unless you're hucking it, I'd take out any spacers in the shock and add some air to keep it higher in its travel while pedaling (based on you description of terrain you ride). You'll get a bike with tons of support and tons of travel reserve.

    Enjoy!

You know why. Aside from solid wheel stiffness, you also want short chain stays, wider tires, ability to run 1X, durability, low weight, and long travel. Soooo, yeah. Be grateful that the 157 standard has been around a long time and you have tons of hub options.

    Is Windrock open year-round?!

Well damn. Maybe I'll just stick with the tried and true Maxxis and sell the WTB Trail Boss for a few bucks.

I'm excited for this weekend is an understatement.
I've only got Sunday to ride though and it will include lots of pedaling.
