whatever you're planning, don't' do it! It's a never ending rabbit hole of 'what's next' Don't break that seal.

Either that, or as others mentioned, you don't need approval from anyone here to do what you want to do or not do to your truck.

The race-proven, superior performance of all things TRD is shown in this vid. Even a 1st gen TRDs benefits from the days and weeks of lab analysis of Tacoma performance by the scientists at TRD. This is why we get such glorious throttle response, and huge torque and acceleration from these trucks. The effort from the Race analysis team at TRD really shines in the third gen tacos, especially. You can pretty much drive them straight from the dealer to a track day.

I believe that seal was busted wide open when he signed up on this site. Which, incidentally, is what happened to me.

Why? I've never understood why you TRD guys, and especially the TRD Pro guys actually care about this?

Want a TRD, pay the price. Nothing wrong with a SR5 but badges and decals don't change the iron.

Lol ok, I guess that about answers my question. I was pretty sure I was right when I assumed it was based on some ego issue where someone ties their identity to the vehicle they drive, and apparently even its trim level.

There's no logical reason to be bothered whatsoever by how someone chooses to modify the appearance of their vehicle unless they try to fraud somebody and sell it as anything other than its factory designation, or the reason stated above.

While I agree, you can put anything on your truck you so choose... even a Cheve Bowtie logo if you want. But really? why represent your vehicle as something it isn't. It screams "wannabe" to me.

I dont disagree with you at all, I just dont see why that would bother a TRD owner. Let them be a wannabe, you know you have crawl control and a locking rear differential and they dont.

The Pro guys are the worst about this honestly, and it just comes off as so childish. As if having a TRD Pro makes you a professional tacoma owner or something? Lol.

Although I think this is a troll thread..Half the 3rd Gen Forum members have TRD Pro wheels off of a 4Runner on their Tacoma. They probably also have a Tacoma Pro Grill on their non Pro truck.

Jerry Cans and Traction Recovery Boards are color coordinated to what matches best with stickers and vehicle color themes.

Who cares if this guy wants a TRD intake or TRD rims on his 'non TRD' truck. If he's a poser....

I'm 65. I've had a full beard for 40 years. My wife hates it. I wear denim bib-overalls. My wife hates them. I drink and smoke cigars and when I fart I proudly say 'Yup! That was me!' She hates that too. 35 years later we're still married ... somehow.
Life is too short to worry about what others think.

Sr5 used to mean sport rally 5MT back in the day. Like 80s corollas or celicas. In the last 30 years or so, its just an interior package and some exterior pieces like foglights. It does not mean anything except that.

Trd is also BS. None of our trucks have toyota racing development parts, its just a trim option. The only time when TRD actually was involved, was when they designed the superchargers for 1st and 2nd gen tacos.
