    I only really notice benefits of premium higher in the revs myself. And if you're trying to save a few bucks, you probably don't belong at 4000+ RPMs :D

    Looking for general consensus, or better yet, prior experience.

    If one lowers the TC unlock points to help alleviate the lock/unlock/locking it likes to do, the transmission should still know to unlock before shifting, correct?

    Clearly their "master" technicians are a bigger danger to my truck than any aftermarket parts I've added! FFS.

    When I first updated the the TSB for MT (04B14) I used the flash utility to read the ECU this creating a stock 04B14 file.
    It creates the stock 04B14 file as a p5f file.
    I understand that opening VF and using the flash utility from there is the preferred way. However, it uses .vft files.
    I assume it will also be okay to still flash p5f files as well? ( Hope that all makes sense)

    Stock tune can shift between 5 and 6 with maps calling for locked TC right? So i would say yes.

    If I want to to hold the lock longer while depressing the gas, do I raise or lower the values????

    Raise them right??

    I was led to believe the opposite in previous discussion about it. Raising the values should lead to more unlocked situations.

    Think about it, raising the values to 256.xxx makes it always unlocked so raising them should make it be unlocked more.

    Yes, at elevation 85 is ok. But if you plan on driving to lower elevation, I would have 87 in the tank.

    That is true. But why then @ 21% throttle is the value higher than 7% throttle on the stock unlock table? Wouldn't that mean that at a lower percentage of throttle it will unlock at a lower mph? Damn this s*** can be confusing

    This torque converter lock up bounces back and forth all the time because the lock and unlock are so f****** close... If once it locked you gave it a little more gas and it didn't immediately unlock it would be far more drivable
