So if you think about it as a steady accelerator position, let's say 30% accelerator angle the truck locks up at 60 kph. If you maintain that position, it will unlock at 45 or 46. So in that logic, lower holds longer....IMG_20201030_101538385.jpg

@Mooseditty17 Correct, but I'm wanting to run the regular octane tune you make, but here they only sell 85 octane, no 87. If there was an 87, I'd put that in but its 85 or 91 at Costco where I fill up. I was just trying to verify if that would be okay. I get worse MPGs with these tunes, so I wanna get the cheaper gas to make up for the extra consumption.

@ihatemytruck Yes, where 87 is an option I would put that in!

Quick question. If I return my truck back to stock settings is it possible to say unlicense my truck and apply the VFtuner to my moms truck or would I still need to purchase more credits for editing another Ecu?

Would have to get more credits if the ecu is different.

so small percentage I don't but more than likely do.

How do I see what ECU is in the trucks?

The same way you read your ECU when setting up vF Tuner. I used vF to read my 2017 because it's faster than Techstream.

The tune is tied to the ecu number, not to a specific truck. No reason to flash your truck back to stock.

I'll jump in and confirm that 85 is totally fine. I've been running it with OVTune for about a year now throughout Utah/Colorado. Plus, the tunes are octane learning, so they'll slowly adjust to whatever you put in the tank.

Premium tunes have more performance potential, but if you put some regular gas in once in a while, you're not gonna damage anything (maybe there would be some complications if you did that all the time though).

    Don't overthink it.

Raising the unlock will make it unlock more. You need to lower the unlock. Keep in mind it will shift and stay unlocked until you pass the lock or partlock thresholds.

I will confirm this is correct. I lowered the unlock values, raised the first two lock values by 10 and the remainder up by 5. Very similar setup for the slip lock. 4th gear is absolutely magnificent! No up down nonsense and nice smooth pull throughout the gear. Beautiful transition into 5th as well. I attempted to mess with 3rd as well, but that'll be another day. Literally 2 weeks driving has equaled 1000 miles! Dear lord, I think I need a 12 step program!

Here it is for 04A61: performance tune, no gearlock, tows in S4+ECT. Good daily driver, getting 20-23 mpg.

I hope you like it as much as I do. It feels to me like OV 2.0 final with extra oomf and no bogging.

Omg.... this comes out right as OVTune says he needs a few testers for a final performance tune. Decisions decisions.
