New tires. Stock size(245-75r-16) because I can't change size and pass Spanish inspection's. Old ones were terrible on wet roundabouts.Before.jpg After.jpg

If it were me, I'd keep a set of cheap stock wheels with stock tires and throw them on for inspections. Thats BS.

    Love your brother jacks.

Ok to jack at the axle tube?

Front looks sketchy as hell. Probably just the perspective.

That is what I figured the reason was and the obvious associated liability of such a task. On the other hand, many things done to a truck require two people, so...
One option would be to leave the upper or lower hole on the bracket partially open, so you wouldn’t have to completely remove the second bolt from the hood and could effectively just slide the bracket into place after one bolt was attached and somewhat snug. I think it could be done with that design, but regardless, it was not designed that way. Gotta work with what you have, unless you are Meso that is. o_O

just installed a 4.5" maxtrac lift with 285/70r17s all by myself. Planning on taking it into a shop this Sunday to get a CMC and some trimming done to fix the rubbing luckily I can get away with only turning my wheels halfway for now.
I can't wait to get the CMC done and test it out on a trail even tho it's only a 2wd.

EDIT... IT WORKS!! After leaving it sit for an hour with battery disconnected I went back out and reinstalled. Must have made the electronics gods happy this time as everything works as expected and no errors from the Taco.

Today I installed the ECT always on mod, installing the module from @ funman1steve. A simple little 10 minute make the driving experience better mod. Got everything back together, fired it up and the Taco began throwing blind spot monitor and lane departure system errors, and the ECT/PWR mode did not enable, (edit >) and the remote keyless entry stopped working. Went back through everything checking connections, etc. and still throwing errors. Removed the mod and it's now sitting for an hour with battery disconnected to see if that clears it our. Anyone experience anything similar or have ideas on what to look at?

    Thanks, Mike

I believe the thinking here is if your product requires the customer to think, you will lose a product liability case in court.

Everyone is entitled to do as they please, but I believe you're not supposed to jack the axle tube and I would not trust my truck to stay put on 3 points of contact with the ground. He may not be under the vehicle but it would still be a bummer for the truck to fall, especially with Jack stands on hand. To each his own though.

I've never ran into an issue jacking something up by the tube. Always done it and then put jack stands between the u- bolts when needed.

Front is on a 1/4" thick skid plate. Couldn't knock the truck over if I tried.

Having removed and installed the hood by myself, it isn't that bad. Lay some thick blankets on the windshield cowl and hold the hood on the radiator support with a couple of 2x6s (i.e. lower the hood as far as possible leaving just enough room to get your hand and a wrench in there).

I don't believe the struts are designed to be a stressed member, therefore support requirement is minimum. All they do is slow the hood in both directions and hold it up when open.
