I'm lazy with the marinade. I buy Korean imported Bulgogi marinade. :anonymous:
How many briquettes do you use? I have the square $20 Walmart charcoal grill.

Ugh. Why can't people hog something that doesn't immediately impact my bathroom experience....like bubblegum or paper clips.

I like it. Can't run out of these things. We did and trying to get tp was horrible. Then people think you're hoarding by buying 2 cases, not realizing you just don't want to use your shower.

oh, and thoughts on a decent 1911 without breaking the bank?

What's your price range? I've kinda divided models and brands by what you're willing to spend lol.

Also, any specific features or what's the purpose of this gun?

I'll look at it like i did my other stuff and not be a cheap bastard. Not sure how much their prices very and where the quality line is drawn, but 700-1.2 would be good

I been using that Bulgogi recipe for years. It's very close to my Aunt's. Because Asian pears are hard to find for the marinade. I also let the meat soak in a bag in the fridge a day ahead or at least overnight.

That's what I call the goldilocks zone for 1911s.

In that range, the S&W E-series 1911s, Ruger 1911s, Springfield Range Officer or Loaded models and used Dan Wesson models are right there.

Those 4 brands I would recommend and then you need to figure out features you want. If you're going with .45ACP, go with a 5" (government-sized) so reliability is going to be better.

For value, I don't recommend Springfield TRP models, as Dan Wesson makes a better 1911 in that price range.

Thanks! Lot of good info to start with so I'll get to looking. Hopefully in that range it keeps out most of the panic buyers. I know different brands/models have different features and there are quite a few so i'll probably be a frequent flyer at Sportsmans to get my hands on some and see what i like

For most people, a $1k handgun is a hard pill to swallow. My favorite 1911 is my customized Springfield Armory Loaded Lightweight Operator in .45ACP (cost $1050 when I bought it) that I've been upgrading after 4 years carrying it.

    Wilson Combat Bulletproof:
    Firing pin
    Firing pin spring
    Extractor
    Firing pin stop
    One-piece magazine well

    Wilson Combat G10 grips
    Wolff springs
    Wilson Combat ETM magazines

I don't have many expenses so 1k ain't bad. Besides, i don't want stuff that's going to fail. Don't know a whole lot about customizing handguns so would like to get into that at some point, but also have a quality starting piece.

Just assume that everything you want to change on a 1911 needs to be hand fit, except grips.

That's why you have to figure out the features you want, so you customize less.

Shoot a bunch of different 1911s, if you haven't, yet.
