Can't go wrong with 33's! Technically the 285/75r16 in wildpeaks is a 32.8".

    Here's a pic aired down to 16psi

I ran 295/75/16s as they filled in the wheel well a lot better than 285s IMO.

These are the newer AT3W LT

295 looks sweet. Always contemplated it before getting 285

I just did 285 70 17 in C load last week, looks awesome and the mpg is still good 18 to 20 mpg on the highway and 16 in town.
the mods aren't crazy, I did go to a local off-road shop to get the work done. The CMC looks like factory frame work.
I am right around a 2 inch lift and at the shop we disconnected the sway bar and ran it up the ramp to check rub.
    255 80 17 look good as well.

Would it have been better to go 255 80?
Or lifting higher and not doing a CMC?
such as 3" or higher lift

255 are easier, if you can find a truck to check out with 255s that will help you decide if you like the width.
Even when you lift your truck it will still move through the whole range of the shock when your offroading. So your tire has to fit even when it’s not lifted unless you stay on pavement.
Check out this video, it’s pretty good

AE7FB8D8-513E-484A-9AFC-0ED0FBD0F9D7.jpg Love my 255/85/16 setup. Rides good on road and great Offroad. Rub a small amount on rear plastic only at full lock reverse, so trimming will be done. Every truck is different when it comes to needs to clear a tire.

I drive a pickup to be able to haul loads and pull trailers. Not worried about acceleration, but being able to move a load up an incline is important. I could feel a noticeable drop in power going to a 265/75/16 over stock, but it was worth it to me. But I'd not want to go any bigger without re-gearing. And the cost of doing a 33" tire right just isn't worth the small gain. Remember, for every 1" bigger tire you go to you only gain 1/2" ground clearance.

I was able to go to a 31.5" tire with no modifications and very little loss of power. It would cost a LOT of money to go to 33's and do it right. And I'd gain 3/4" of ground clearance. I wouldn't do it, but it doesn't cost any more to to the modifications to go to a 35" tire than a 33" tire.

It really doesn’t cost ALOT of money. But it does cost more than going one size up from stick

My M55 skinnies measure at 33.4 and I did no cutting. 1.75” lift and a good alignment. I had to remove the front mudflaps. Power is down but I still tow and wheel regularly.
