My back has been pretty bad, but I've been pushing through. Not nearly as bad as you.

My L5-S1 disk is basically gone, L4-L5 disk is at 30% remaining fluid, L2-L3 disk is at 40% fluid and a botched epidural has caused partial paralysis if my left front lower leg.

 

I will exclude expletives...but damn. I'm sorry to hear. my Mom works for the VA so i hear some of what she deals with. Not a whole lot of physical stuff as she a psychiatrist, but she knows her stuff. Any chance of treatment?

 

They told me the only fix was fusion, but they won't do it because I'm "too young" at 37. I told them no narcotic pain killers, because I have a history of addiction, so I'm not playing that game.

I take Celebrex (super Ibuprofen as far as I'm concerned) and I'll wait until it's nearly impossible to walk for surgery.

 

AT least you recognize the addiction and stay away from it. She deals with some who don't and she doesn't play that game. Stay strong. Any reason besides age they won't do it?

Today, followed a truck for ~5 miles, going 55 in a 65. 5 miles, multiple opportunities to pass. We went towards a flat, gentle right sweep. I could see for a mile, no one coming at all.I said(spoke sternly) Damit Graany, pull out, look for oncoming traffic, then PUT YOUR FUCKING FOOT TO THE FLOOR IN YOUR HOTROD AND PASSS THIS TRUCK! sHE DID and seconds later we were around and back in our lane, doing 80+ She somehow accidentally hit the set button on the cruise, and now doing 80 in a 65. She doesn't ever scan the gauges, ever. I waited a bit and said ya think ya otta slow down?? oh... OHHH

The stress after fusing one, will cause me to come in about 4-ish years for the next and so on and so on. They said they get better results if you hold out longer before performing the fusion until you're in your late 40s or 50s. Relief is short-lived with guys in my predicament.

I've developed my own methods to deal with issues.

 

Ah. Didn't know that. how are your methods?

 

Stretching, light activity, body position when resting, low alcohol consumption.

Biggest thing, also trickiest thing, is losing weight

My current goal is to get to my weight when U was dating the wife, 8 years ago. I was 190 and about 20% body fat.

Now my body type is corndog lol.

 

Shit happens. You'll get it back. Sure you have some stuff working against you, but not like that'll stop ya. As long as you're keeping it somewhat healthy with light exercise, you'll get there.

 

Of course they know. According to the VA, I have been diagnosed with stage 4 COPD. But let's run more tests. In the meantime... and I now say this everytime I talk to VA, or docs' nurses. Like this : I...can't...fucking...breath.

Do you think that helps, no it doesn't but I'm BEYOND frustrated and feel at the end of the rope. I don't want to, but if I have to drag an oxygen tanks around just to be able to take care of my house etc. I will. What other choice do I have?

And I know, I sound like a little crying bitch.
