What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Drove to North/East Az last weekend and stayed in Greer. Truck got to see snow for the first time since I bought it.

 

OEM, AJT, and MESO

The OEM key is currently being blued to replace the one on the AJT (my spare), as is the key for the flip fob. I’ll post pictures when I’m done, but wanted to offer up a side by side for each.



EDIT: The red panic button on the MESO flip fob is not stock. I just used testors model paint.

oh yeah man, always on .52 and a local uhf repeater. On and off road.

 

I would go with Redline - pop rivets and stainless was a good point for me...only a few bucks more. Prob sale for Black Fri.

 

Not sure how the TRD badge is set up but I installed this with no drilling. Creates a really solid wedge with the back plate. I check it every now and then and it ain't going nowhere...

 

Good stuff! I have that badge as well and is my preference. I’ll start wrenching now

Also, do the 2020's require A/C hose redirection?
I've read about older models having rust development due to the hose dripping on the frame!

 

Yes the 2020's have a short stub of a AC drain. Do it.

 

Not 100% sure I’m going to like it long term but for now, it’s ok.

are you getting any vibrations currently or anticipating when you do the 5100? I ask because I was conflicted when ordering my suspension and passed on it in hopes I never got the vibrations. A week later and about 100 miles and no vibrations yet.

 

Last camping trip of the year....

 

No issues with the truck at all.
Replacing it for the Bilstein 5100.

I've just read places that it's recommended since the needle bearing in the OEM CV axle bushing have been known to break off with suspension upgrades.
That could be a pretty expensive fix if those broken pieces go elsewhere.
