Installed new ome upper control arms, getting it aligned this afternoon and I’ll report back! Look beefy so far and the price was reasonable. I also have a work trip to the north woods next week to test them out.

I was prepared to do the CMC but didn’t need it only very minor trimming and removing my mud flaps. No rubbing at full lock as far as I can tell and the shop could find that I used here in south Florida (Mr. Wheels)

I think they launched them pretty quietly in august, there was one thread over on mud I found about them. They were $530 with a greaseable/pressed in ball joint.

Fixed a torn driver side cv boot by replacing the axle with one from rockauto. Fingers crossed it lasts through the winter and then I plan on replacing both of them with CVJ axles in the spring. Installed OME rear shocks to match the new struts I did the other week. Replaced headlight bulbs with the cheapest thing from Wallyworld so it will pass inspection this coming week, as the passenger side low beam blew out this week. Last but not least I installed a pair of battery clamps from SDHQ. They are super nice and have a ton of spots to add accessories.

Also since there is a 15% off I was eyeing snagging one of these for the garage but that still up for debate.

    None... yet.
Started out thinking I would do a tranny drain and fill, as I'm getting an unpleasant shudder around 40 mph under light throttle. With close to 189,000 on the odo, I figure it's due! Well, I shut that down when I realized I didn't have a measurable container to drain into... and also, my garage floor got very cold overnight and I just didn't feel like laying there at 9am on a Saturday.

With that off the table, I settled on finally hooking up my Curt hitch. My youngest daughter and I had tried to do so last week but were defeated by the "ears" of the hitch being too close (just under 1/2 inch) to slide up over the frame. It was getting dark at the time, so we packed up the tools from an earlier job and discussed possible strategies.

Back to today: After trying to push them apart with a bottle jack and blocks of wood :)rolleyes::rofl:) I realized that this was one of the few times when employing my BFH was warranted! I used to be known for over-employment of said tool but, having grown a bit in my mechanical thinking, I realize that it's power must be used judiciously! Which I did... with vigor! 5 solid whacks on either side and... it fit! :bananadance:

    Bunch of Basic Taco mods.
My wife is the director for our local children’s museum. The past two days I’ve been hauling folding tables, setting up, and breaking down for a Halloween event they held today. That little Tacoma has been working hard.

picked up a like new TRD exhaust this morning, found it on fb marketplace for $150. So I put it on, changed oil & filter, rotated tires, greased u-joints, cleaned the air filter, maf & tb, changed the spark plugs & pcv valve. my truck has 90K miles on it.
