I love mods but this I one I truly can’t understand. I mean they are tail lights. Who the hell cares enough about tail lights to spend that kind of money on them you can’t even see the damn things. There are so many cool things you could get for your truck in the 500 to 800 range

I just remembered why I stay out of this area of TW now.

You people won't pay $500 for tail lights, will mock the person that does, but you'll pay $4k for shocks and then drive it in a fashion that any $50 shock will work just fine in.

And they will be done beautifully, correctly, and no headache. Just install and enjoy. They are hard to appreciate unless you actually know the work that goes into them.

I think you’re absolute bat shit crazy to spend that much money on taillights, but that is my opinion. You heave every right to do what the hell you please to your truck with your money on your time.

just saying, some, myself Included can’t resist saying something about it. And your thread gets cluttered with the non sense.

so sorry for that. And to end this: $600 for tail lights is insanity man

I say go for it. If you have the loot and the desired upgrade suits your taste, pull the trigger. As long as you're happy with the mod, that's all that counts.

Although somewhat off topic but related, I don't understand why some folks go for smoked lenses. It seems counter intuitive to use something that will negatively impact light output (regardless how minor it might be), being that headlights and tail lights are safety equipment. Swing and a miss for me....

The lenses on those (or the Depo's) aren't smoked. It's just the internals are either paint matched (in the case of the $575 tails), or blacked out (in the case of the Depo's). So the light output shouldn't be any different than on a normal stock tail light.

Understood. There are some out there that do have smoked lenses. I don't recall which ones do have them but when I did see them I wondered "why would you do that?".

I'm with you on that. The reduced light output is a no go for me as well.
