I just had mine done for 125 (Chevy Impala 3.8L). That is crazy high. I would check somewhere else.

Sounds about right. Are they doing a flush or just a dump and refill? If they are doing a BG trans flush then yeah go for it. Ever had the trans serviced before? Better to have someone else do it than try it yourself. The dealer should warranty it for 12/12. It is also replaced with synthetic fluid if a BG service.

I paid 110.00 for the BG power steering flush/fill on my car so if that is what they are gonna do then 285 doesn't sound insane for BG tranny service but does sound a bit insane for anything else. My auto tranny on my car takes a 110.00 jug of AMSOIL to completely drain/refill all 9 quarts and paid 40.00 to have place pump in the new juice back when car was newer so yeah, 285 sounds high for regular flush/fill to me.

The only thing the dealership has done to my toyota is change my oil(except the air cleaner). I won't the full flush, he said he drains and fills acouple of times to completly get all the old fluid. I don't know what BG means?

My friend has a BG machine at his shop and has been trying to get me to swap my fluid in my 06 trd sport 2wd.

It says BG fluid exceeds toyota recommendations, is that true? Is BG safe for our auto tranny's?

Yes good for auto trans. If vehicle has under 75k they will warranty the trans from defect after the service is done.

I had the Lewisville Toyota dealership tell me $500 for a flush with a machine. Also told me that you couldnt replace a u-joint in the drive shaft with any assurance that the shaft would still be in balance. That guy was a jackass, I laughed at him. Did the u-joint myself for $20 in part cost and about an hour of my time. Called the Toyota dealership in Hurst, and they charge $169 for a flush. $285 is a bit high.

I had a BG flush right before I hit 35K on my 2012. Less than 800 miles later the rear of the truck would shake when the engine hit about 1,500 RPM and the speed was between 30 and 40 mph. Toyota said the BG flush was done incorrectly and damaged the transmission. A new one had to be installed. Anyone ever hear of this before?:eek:

Id look for another diagnosis and not mention the trans flush. Seems odd to me that a transmission problem would cause a vibration in the rear of the vehicle.

That's for a complete fluid flush/change with the BG machine? BTW, very happy with the alignment your tech did, thanks :).

I don't think i have ever done this. Am I really supposed to do it every 30,000 miles ? I did do my 30,000 mile change at toyota. Is that something they do at 30,000 mile service ? I'll check my receipt just wondering what you all think.
